I'm having a bit of trouble writing up my character's background, but I've got him pretty much statted out for the beginning of the saga. If needed, we can flesh out his personal history later.

Appearance: Appearance: Tabanus is a rather plain-looking gentleman most recognizable for his ink-stained academic gown and his unnaturally pale skin – a result of too many long days spent pouring over mouldy tomes in his sanctum.
Sigil: Tabanus’ sigil is a droning buzz that most people find annoying. His voting sigil is an ornate copper wand.
Rough Background: The youngest son of a petty noble, Tabanus’ bookish temperament dictated a career in the clergy. While pursuing his vocation in a London parish school, however, Tabanus came to the attention of his future parens Astrolabe of Jerbiton who arranged for him to be admitted into Cambridge University, paying for his tuition and otherwise acting as an anonymous benefactor to the boy.
Rather than taking holy orders and continuing his education, however, Tabanus was instead taken to the Schola Pythagoranis where his hermetic apprenticeship began. Although Tabanus thrived intellectually in the scholastic atmosphere of the Cambridge-based covenant, his interests remained firmly grounded the realm of academia - the study of which took up most of his free seasons.
After completing his Gauntlet (which consisted of translating rare documents in the Roman Tribunal), Tabanus was recognized as a full-fledged magus, and after a few seasons as a Master, decided to leave his familiar home of the past 19 years for someplace he could continue his mundane studies free from the distractions of teaching.
Winter 1221: Tabanus' aging roll was 9 +4 -2 = 11 and gained an Aging Point in Intelligence...
Goals: Tabanus most immediate goal is to establish himself at Gallus Florensis. Beyond that, he’s most interested in reconciling hermetic magic with classical philosophy – perhaps even joining the Lyceum at some point if he feels it will further his knowledge of magic. More practically, Tabanus should probably start shopping for a Longevity Ritual and will have to acquire some vis with which to pay for it.
