Loud enough for everyone to hear, "Well, see, that's the problem, I'm not sure exactly how I got here. Probably not the same way that demon did. Could you help me? Tell me how to get back, perhaps?"
If Trerrence sees any movement that looks like spell casting and/or incantation, he'll will dive out of the door frame.
OOC: any change in feeling. Still feeling safe and reassured?
OOC: Stronger, in fact. The moment he saw the lady working upon the demon, he felt reassured that he has a place in God's Plan, and that no folly could befall him here.
"I do not have the capacity to help you in this way. You should leave, before Hak'uriel catches your scent. His kind are unrelenting hunters.
"I think it may be too late for me, he started twitching just a moment ago." Terrence says as he backs away from the doorway slowly towards Cygna. He never turns his back towards the door of the inrerrogation room, instead glances backwards towards Cygna as he moves back.
If he gets back to Cygna and the others without incident, he'll whisper, "I think there's an angel in there, or something, and it looks to be torturing some kinda demon or something, that looks like a toad or something. I'm strangely calm about the whole episode. She told me to leave, before the demon, I think she called it Hak'uriel, caught my scent but that she couldn't help me find the way.
"Oh, " Terrence says nonchalantly like it doesn't concern him overmuch, "I think the demon did catch my scent. It started twitching and appeared to get excited, even though it's on some sort of torture rack device. It was beautiful. The rack. Not the demon. Oh, and when she first saw me she asked me if the sorceress sent me. Think she means someone else who lived here before?" he asks of no one in particular as he sheaths his sword.
((OOC:: Dominion Lore 1 + Int 1 + 1d10=10 <seriously? dang it> - botch check - 1d10=4 = 2. Well, I don't recognize any saints that sit around whipping demons, Infernal Lore (Demons) 2 + Int 1 + 1d10=7 = 10. Anything on the Hak'uriel demon?)
Amos quickly mutters a Hail Mary under his breath at Terrance's report while he tries to think of what Martreau taught him of angels and demons...
Amos: Hak'uriel is a low level nuisance, according to the writings of (name to be determined when I get real net access later tonight, unless you guys want to pick an author off our list). Not a fallen angel, but one of the twister scum dwelling in the infernal regios which later splintered into Hell. (This whole theory about infernal regios is rejected by Author B). He is a stupid, hungry thing that eats magic and magic users. Once he is on your scent, he is very hard to get rid of, as he is apparently immortal, but his eyes are bigger than his stomach -- it is a lowly mage, Author A writes, who cannot shrug off his attacks.
Some magi wonder if he is one demon, or a type of demons.
As Terrence was down the hall longer and longer, carrying on a conversation with someone in the other room, Cygna grew noticeably more annoyed at the situation, and moves "Learning Friendly Voices" further up her 'To Do' list." By the time he starts to make his way back to the others, she is tapping her foot.
Then, as Terrence starts to give his report, her demeanor changes. First, surprise (and perhaps a little bit of fear or concern?) at his claim that there's an angel in the other room. Then she blanches when he mentions the demon. Infernal Lore to see if she recognizes it: Int 4 + Infernal Lore 1 + die roll of 1, followed by a roll of 3, so 4+1+6=11.
[color=red]"I recommend we leave until we can figure out why Cersei would send someone to interrupt the 'angel's' work, or do so herself...and how much she may have known about this." She then mutters, almost under her breath, [color=red]"I hope she kept a meticulous journal." (this last may be subject to change, depending on whether her Infernal Lore roll tells her anything interesting).
Infernal Lore gives the same info as Amos got. Need to fill in those missing authors...
Viscaria doesn't even bother replying. As soon as the words come out of Cygna's mouth, she turns around and starts scrabbling back through the regio border as fast as she can. (Given our manga-influenced story, this probably includes some fan service camera angles.)
Cygna looks at Terrence with an incredulous look on her face. Tall, thin, scrawny, no-noticeable-curves-on-her-body Cygna. "You're hungry already? But...we've just started!"
Cygna gathers up her robes in as dignified a manner as she can muster and crawls through the regio boundary into the wine cellar.
Cygna is right behind her. She is looking visibly shaken as she stands up and looks around, then back at the boundary. [color=red]"Does anyone else find that as...disturbing as I?"
She then looks at the others. [color=red]"Shall we continue on, then?" If the others concur, then she will look for the door/passage to whatever's next...bedroom, sanctum, lab, hot tub, whatever.
Aside from the door leading to the hallway and the stairs down, there's only one other door, which presumably leads to the other chambers of this suite.
Amos tries to dive through the doorway before Cygna gets there and fails - he spends the next few moments warily eyeing Terrance (much like how people eye him) and twitching when Terrance finally moves to go through the portal - if Terrance insists on Amos going first he practically crab-runs through the hole and hurriedly stands back up on the other side, brushing himself off as if nothing was the matter while getting out of the way of the hole. Amos is quick to gesture to let him take the lead again.
Cygna looks from Terrence to Amos and back again with a "you have got to be kidding me!" look on her face.
After a minute, she rolls her eyes. [color=red] "Are we having fun?"
She then looks through the door past Amos and Terrence to see what's down there, trying to decide if it would make more sense to start closer and work outward, or start at the far end and work back.
She also can't help thinking about what was going on downstairs in the regio. What was Hak'uriel doing down there, how did he get captured, who (or what) was torturing him, and is this something that occurs on a regular basis?
I don't see that Terrence has explicit permission to take point, more like he's obsessed with Cygna staying safe so he'll do what he can for her protection. Unless asked/ordered he's more than happy to let another Magus go first...
Cygna doesn't really care who goes first, as long as the investigation continues..especially as somebody thinks that we're already late for lunch
[color=red]"Why don't we start down at the end of the hall and work our way back? That way, it's not as far to run in case we come across any other..." She is unable to suppress a slight shudder. [color=red]"interesting visitors. And they'll be less likely to be between us and the outside...although I've no doubt you could make a nice little exit if we had to." She smiles at Viscaria.
She will then start to head down the hall.
(I'm assuming "marching order" is Amos, Terrence, Cygna, Viscaria?)
