Gloriana will be very proud, and will go straight afterwards to Evandrus to celebrate and have him share in her success. It will be the last time they share a significant amount of time together. :cry:

Story to come, Gloriana and co will journey to an ancient temple for the initiation, they will be tested physically, then she will be tested for her capabilities by the Mystagogue and his cronies, then a great celebration will occur in which they will be given a mission to enter a regio and bring an item out, and the group will be ambushed by other young prospects, they will fight to not harm them, and escape with the prize, to present it to the Mystagogue.

Hi! Since the difficulty is 9, Anna can earn 3 vis rather than 4. Gloriana had already chosen vis (and as a Personal reward, can only be chosen once, silveroak might weigh in here), but she adores her sodales and will change her reward, grateful for her sister's aid.

Story: After the first battle a priest shows up to minister to the soldiers. Pazzino feels something isn't quite right with the priest. Its subtle, but somethings he says and does are illogical and at odds with the Church Law. Eventually he discovers the truth, the priests is an infernalist! He's trying to damn the soldiers! Pazzino has a plan. He figures out the priests favorite food, gets Aegis to cook it and gives the man the dish. The corrupt priest greedily consumes the food. The poisoned food. He goes down to hell.

Danaë has had her eye on the small covenant of __________ for a while, as reputedly an ex Miscellanea magus who had the Warding ability stayed there for a few years before vanishing into the sands of AEgypt. She is keen to view their library, and so she has dropped several hints of friendship from the Praesidium while on her Redcap duties. It pays off. Apparently, they recently gained a vis source, ratified by the Mercere, but it is either being raided, or there's something wrong with it; their Intellego specialist is young and not that proficient, and has been unable to determine what is going on, although they suspect the former owners, a much stronger Covenant. Before declaring an unwinnable Wizard's War or pursuing a fruitless case in Tribunal, they want to make sure. Can the Magi of the Praesidium look at this, quietly? Yes we can, smiles Danaë.

The group establishes a well-hidden camp -a wooded glen with large stones and those are maybe Roman columns?- in the vicinity of the source, a brook of purest water which provides Animal vim in Summer, Aquam in Winter, and Vim in Spring; and stays alert. They actually catch another Magus from a rival covenant spying invisibly on the source! Only Danaë reveals herself, and she lies smoothly, telling the bearded fellow that she is merely passing through with messages for the Covenant, as well as checking the vis source out herself, as recently made official by the Mercere and voices her surprise and displeasure at noticing Master Giuseppe, invisible, with her Second Sight, in another Covenant's grounds, perhaps something to bring up at the next Tribunal? The magus Giuseppe makes some lame excuse and exeunts hastily; in discussing his behavior with the others, Danaë observes she that he was rather waiting for something to happen, and not necessarily about to rob the source itself. Stealth, Guile, Awareness success

With redoubled caution, and with someone with the Sight on watch at all times, they become aware of movement in the water! A sinuous form, lizard like, and with markings similar to those of the worms that Aurthor had provoked in recent years is moving almost impossible to see, a very powerful glamour, and no wonder the weak covenant had been unable to perceive it, obviously their foes are aware of this weakness! The group scares it off, the creature obviously surprised at being perceived. It flees, but the hunt is on! Danaë and Phillippe know the wilds of Italy too well, and they out hustle the creature, but are unable to capture it, just slay the vis pilferer. The friendly Covenant is astonished at this, and are both grateful for the help and fearful at the knowledge that their foes are testing their weaknesses, that the former owner of the vis source can influence dragons! Danaë does not mention that the worm may be related to their ancient dragon foe. Second Sight, Area Lore, Hunt success

They start off by doing lots of research on how to contest these attacks legally. They interrogate the Mercere, the surviving sailors, and even members of the court who gossip about the mysterious advisor that no one can stand. They write letters and visit other nobles to put pressure so as to make the noble advised by this Court Magus desist. Andros even unwisely Strides and threatens the fellow in his own quarters, under the Aura of Rightful Authority, and proceeds to steal and destroy all his wizardly accoutrements. As expected, the court magician seeks to flee and lay low for a while, and what better place to do this than with the corsairs in his employ? Andros and co. hide in the next Mercere ship, and do all they can to attract the attention of the interdictors. Sandor brings to command the gulls and other coastal birds, and so they keep them well-informed of the marauding vessel. The interdictor is shadowing the Mercere vessel, but they are not fooled. At the stroke of midnight, Andros enhances greatly Bonaro, Sandor, Pazzino, the monkey, and himself, and with his Flee or Fly, you Fool!, modified with Wizard's Reach (Corpus), enters the enemy vessel and proceed to slaughter all aboard and scuttle it, so no trace remains of its existence. Story: The band of heroes happens upon a disorganized mob of peasant levies who are quickly scattered. Most of the peasants either surrender or get slaughtered, but the knight who was leading them flees. Coward.

After the battle a party is had and enjoyed by all! Aegis continues to make friends despite her silence. Pazzino gets winds of malicious rumors about Aegis. Its sort of out of the bag that Aegis dons armor and fights. However someone was spreading rumors that Aegis was using foul demon magicks to protect herself from all harm and had poisoned a good and righteous priest who was on to her! Pazzino quashed the rumors handily.

Finally, Pazzino somehow managed to make the covenant a business deal in his spare time. Aegis cooked the food for the meeting.

Story:
The band of heroes is deployed as a light scouting/raiding band. They soon find themselves ambushed and outnumbered, not that it really matters since they shatter the enemy. The group rides down several of the fleeing cowards, and tracks down several more to their camp. Sandor's brilliant plan let's them sneak up on the coward's camp and strike! Some of the cowards hide, and some run! But they are all either found or caught and put to the sword.

The war against the rebel barons and princes who support Innocent against Roger does not end. The Knights are fighting mainly the forces of Capua and Robert II. They engage a larger force whose scouts they had already spotted. The Knights volley them with arrows, then run them down as they flee into the nearby wooded hills. But they discover a unit of experienced Rangers that are waiting for them. They are too stealthy and wood crafty, however, and over the following days they massacre the rangers. Sandor and Concetta speaking with the birds of the area provides a big edge.
They exit the woods in pursuit of the remnants of the Rangers and the Capuan mercenaries, and the fighting is often hand-to-hand. But their command is good enough to regroup, avoid unnecessary wounds, and siege the remnants in a small crumbling keep. They take and interrogate some prisoners, and even some noblemen, their ransom is very juicy.

After the battle, Pazzino's keen deductive reasoning and excellent abilities of judging character uncovers an assassination plot. The assassin reveals that he was hired by some minor merchants in a nearby city before said assassin is executed. Then the group infiltrates a party the merchants are holding by posing as cooks/servants. It is Aegis's amazing cooking that actually gets them the job. A little sneaking later and they have the proof required to hang the minor merchants.
