the story on 2 needs a bit of a change- a demon would be behind a diabolist priest, and is trying to prolong the conflict between the two claimants to the Papacy. The priest probably has his own motives and may believe he is in charge and somehow using the demon instead of being manipulated and corrupted by it...
Changes have been made! He was now working with a demon. The ghost was that of a murdered child. The child was slain by the demon to cover up one of the priests corrupted rites. This is foolish because the child didn't have the ability to realize the rite was corrupted!

Sightings of a mysterious stranger have become common in the Covenant, spooking some of the residents. But they are becoming horselike, so easily spooked anyway ! Each time, the translucent apparition utters a word, or a phrase. There seems to be no pattern, and it becomes something of a game to the covenfolk to predict where the next revelation will be unveiled. The Magi are concerned this entity is appearing inside the Aegis, so Andros sets it as his task to uncover what is going on, and he gathers a gaggle of the usual suspects: the ever present, ever indolent carouser Simian Rex; sturdy, dependable, but aging Paco; less than enthusisastic Neleos, whom Andros is determined to transform into a good Flambeau soldier; the always charming Collette, who some say Andros fancies; Mercurio, irrepressible and incredibly rowdy still; and alWazif, that guy who is always lurking in the background and invites himself to adventures, because no one else will. Using their pooled knowledge of the Covenant environs, they manage to witness all other sightings, or arrive to the scene moments later, and so put together the entire message. Area Lore success It's even more nonsensical. There's talk of four sons, 4 kingdoms, 4 storms, Andros can't quite put it together, but they believe this is a faerie being, and interpret that to meet him outside of the Aegis they need to journey to a nearby crossroads whose paths take you to the sea (water), a windy hilltop (air), hot springs (fire), and an abandoned mine (earth). Hunt success. It is there that the Faerie again appears before them, this time more solid, but just as opaque; still it engages them in a trippy conversation. It is Neleos who deciphers the words later, he has a particular affinity with the fae and the laden symbolism: it appears a Magus or group of Magi are trying once again to bring down the Praesidium, but in a very roundabout, ritualistic way: it's a nutty Criamon! Philosophae success
They track down this wizard, Canutus of Padua, and interrupt him in a weird Ritual involving...memory and the four Realms? He flees from them, not in a straight line, and Andros, suspecting a trick or two, uses his newly minted spell to divine that the rascal is trying to lure them into areas with the influence of other realms, and in a specific order, it seems. See the Other Realms success. They carefully avoid these places and catch up with the winded Canutus; he spouts some nonsense of the Enigma kind, as both a warning and a threat. Mercurio then engages rhetorically with him, and the wizard responds favorably! A particular question is posed that stumps the wizard, and he begs leave to retire to contemplate its possible implications. He fades from view. Artes Liberales success The group reaches out to the Quaesitores and their allied Covenants and pulls strings to make things in the Italian Tribunal very difficult for Canutus of Padua. Let him meditate elsewhere, the Alps are nice this time of year! Intrigue success

At least it would be easy to advance, with almost never gaining any xp!
Lady A, Sandor, and the entourage meet with this minor lord whose lands lie in the slopes of a mountain, good area just for sheep, goats...and those that prey on them! They question the noble, the peasants, and Phillippe finds a place to spy on the creature unseen. It is an ogre indeed, twice as tall as an offal pit, and ten times as stinky, it seems. Awareness success It's personal habits odious, it sallies forth from it's cave every couple of days and heads straight to the grazing grounds. Sandor devises a wicked plan, which involves Gervassio disguising himself as a goat herder (which anyway have fled, as the ogre has devoured them), and serving as bait, to lure the creature into a very narrow defile where it might be trapped, and shot at by Noll, Hanbal, and Phillippe, while Sandor and Gervassio keep it trapped with their swordplay. The plan works all too well, Gervassio uses his uncanny senses to evade the bellowing monster every time, and the ogre whimpers piteously as it becomes stuck in its haste to grab the grog and the goats in his care. Premonitions success The grogs prepare to turn the creature into a pincushion, and Sandor is already besides it in a heartbeat, with naked steel in his hand and a murderous smile on his lips. But the ogre's blubbering and wailing is so heart wrenching and difficult to watch that Lady A asks all to lay down their weapons. She speaks to the creature about the Praesidium, and how mercy might be shown, and a place for it found within the magic regio that exists nearby. Magic Lore success She knows just what to say, and the giant thanks her effusively and promises to not misbehave and to control its hungers; Sandor, unconvinced, is already measuring a swing at the ogre's leg to both bleed it out and to cause crippling pain. He is about to order the grogs to proceed and ignore Lady A, when he envisions his return with the huge prisoner in tow, and it seems glorious to him. So he instead orders the men to do what his mother asked them to do. A bunch of astonished peasants and even the lord of the manor witness the procession; the scene is repeated a few days later when they arrive at Locri.

THE CRYSTAL OF EVERY COLOR
A crystal the size of a fist that emits light of a continuously changing color. The crystal produces 2 pawns of Muto vis each season.
Story
Pazzino manages to organize a meeting with a cardinal in Rome for some clues on the mysterious relic (1st cycle). Once there the group impresses the high prelate with a good dose of charisma and an impressive knowledge of the tapestries that adorn his sumptuous palace, getting his collaboration (2st cycle). The informations on the legit owner of the relic are not very precise though, they only know that they must find a priest who has retired as a hermit in the wilderness near Locri and then disappeared. Eager to find the hermit the group quickly return to Locri (3st cycle) and find a regio with a praying man within (4th cycle). The man is under attack, it is weeks that hordes of demons attack him trying to drag him to hell, he has so far managed to resist only thanks to his unshakable faith. Is Pazzino the first to notice the demons coming again and Aurthor manages to draw a circle against them barely in time (5st cycle). Once they manage to leave the regio they talk to the man, who turns out to be the object of their research. Pazzino has an hard time to convince the holy man of their good intentions (6st cycle), but finally the hermit reveals that the relic was kept in a nearby monastery and should be brought back there. At the monastery Aurthor discovers that some of the monks are under the influence of some kind of magic that subjugates the mind, placed by those who had previously stolen the relic. Once removed the unwanted magic (7st cycle) they return the relic. A thorough investigation among the members of the congregation reveals that someone has been an accomplice in the theft and with the help of mundane and magical persuasion they get the collaboration needed to locate the thief (8st cycle). Entering secretly in his residence they discover that the man is an hedge mage with important connections with mundane authorities and that he probably stole the relic to sell it to the house Mercere as vis. Not wanting to create a scandal with unpredictable repercussions on the covenant, they decide to leave the house without taking action against the unscrupulous thief. As compensation for all the problems caused, a large crystal carefully hidden inside a secret compartment is however taken away along with a book (9st cycle).

Story
When they reach the place, examining the victim's body they find a piece of paper with an encrypted message. Pazzino manages to decipher the code and together with Mercurio he reconstructs what happened. The killer is a relative of the original doppelgänger, who was lured into a death trap by his nephew. The murderer seems to have the same capacity to assume Aurthor’s semblance and probably he will be for Aurthor a thorn in the side, just like the dead grandfather.
[strike]When they reach the place, the group discovers that the victim was a faerie. Examining the corpse Pazzino also notes infernal traces, such as those usually left by Aurthor's enemy. It is Mercurio who reconstructs the events. Probably at one point a faerie in search of vitality took on the appearance of Aurthor and began to behave like the original infernal doppelganger. At least until the latter has decided to eliminate the competition.[/strike]
sorry, but there was neither faerie nor infernal involved here- the man who was killed was Aurthor's old doppleganger who was getting too old to pass for him- the killer would turn out to be a nephew of the original who killed him over some personal matter. Nothing supernatural involved.

Story
While looking for materials useful for his book production, Aurthor and companions encounter a dispute between a representative of the local count and an Arab merchant. With the intermediation of ibis they understand that the merchant has been targeted by the representative, who seems to have a particular resentment for foreigners. At this point intervenes Pazzino, which asserts his superior legal knowledge and frightens the official, making him understand to personally know his superiors. The Arab merchant is very grateful to have been released from a potentially dangerous situation and thanks his benefactors with a pair of brightly colored feathers from distant lands.
