Hamish raps heavily on the door and then pushes it open.
"Can I come out now?"
The giant of a man steps in with the magi.
"One of my men gave me the lowdown. You workin' up a plan now?"
Hamish raps heavily on the door and then pushes it open.
"Can I come out now?"
The giant of a man steps in with the magi.
"One of my men gave me the lowdown. You workin' up a plan now?"
"Trying to, at least," Thadeus replies with a nod. "Ideally something that would take Wulfric off the board now, rather than later. We're worried about the possibility that we may not be able to actually kill him -- so something that would discredit him or perhaps trap him for a long time might be our best options."
“If we are going to capture this Wulfric we will need to strip his soldiers and guards from him. I can take care of that, invisibility and Arbalest of Vilano is a nasty combination” states Angus, smiling broadly
Hamish looks over at the new magus, Angus, and can't help but smile before he turns back.
"The man is protected by God."
Which god exactly Hamish? Enquires Angus
Elric turns to Thadeus "If you recall, I did say this will take time, and in the mean time, we can use stories of someone looking like me, to draw Wulfric away from this area, at least for a while. To be fair, I don't think we have any means to take care of Wulfric once and for all in a short span of time. This is something that we might need to take the long term view to take care of, and that might also play in our favor. If he doesn't seem to age, then we can use that to spread rumors of his dalliance with the Fae or the Infernal, to try and further undermine his standing." He takes a deep breath before continuing "We are Magi, and if no foul play happens, we can live much longer than mortal men, and we can afford to take a longer view."
“I’m just saying…” The big soldier frowns.
“I had my shot at him and could have ended him. But… I had a vision from God telling me to stay my hand. That wasn't the time.”
Hamish seems a bit rattled.
“Do you have to do what this God tells you to do Hamish? My gods have never instructed me in any way and I am not sure I would have to follow them blindly. Is your God more demanding?” Asks Angus
"God doesn't send me visions like that one," says Hamish with a troubled look, "very often. But when He does, I try to listen. Who am I to go against God? I've enough trouble with Him as it is."
“A strange religion indeed I think Hamish” replies Angus with obvious interest.
"Some feel that way about the Christ on the Cross, I suppose," says Hamish with a shrug. "Makes for a difficult faith when a blade is your plow."
Elric clears his throat "As much as I appreciate the theological discussion, we need to decide about our course of action in regards to Wulfric, without trying to kill him, if it's not time yet. Other than what I suggested, does anyone else have a better suggestion?"
“Prepare a big hole, put an iron cage in it with a door in the roof. Capture him, put him in the cage with some food and water and seal the hole with Terram magic. Uncover it now and then to put more food and water in. That will keep him out of trouble without killing him and upsetting this God” suggests Angus
"That could work, and I'm not against it. If the council decide on this course of action."
"If it were me, I wouldn't go down a path of discrediting him and all that. That'll draw the wrong kind of attention. Just make him disappear. No noise. No big show. Just vanish him. And maybe lay a false trail of some kind," says Hamish after a bit.
"Or you could plant one of those seeds again and offer him up to the cloud giants. They'd put right into the cook pot, they would."
"That would my thought as well," says Thadeus after some thinking. "It would be more of a question of how to make this happen that is difficult. From what I understand, he has a troop of soldiers to call upon. A proper bait would be needed, that he would follow to a place where the trap can be sprung."
Hamish looks down at his chest and then back to Thadeus.
"You ever seen a fella as big as me in your days that wasn't a full giant?"
The big solder grins.
"I bet if I did some drinkin' down Carlisle way, word might get back to this Wulfric that his half-giant has been spotted. And if'n I made it known I was headin' for the likes of Lockerbie or Dumfries..."
The Turb Captain looks over at Angus.
"And if'n that new fellow there put on some priest's robes and was my boon companion on this little jaunt, this Wulfric fella might not be able to resist the chance..."
"That might work, though appearing right there in Carlisle might be a bit suspicious. The sheriff said Wulfric was there. But in a hamlet not too far from Carlisle, that should certainly spike his interest," Thadeus muses, rubbing his chin. "But what if he shows up with a score soldiers? Or a handred? Or sends someone else to capture you?"
“I noticed in the inventory two clay statues with what I presume is a leap of homecoming effect on them. If we are out classed Hamish can use one to escape and I can go invisible and slip away, only using the second if that fails. I would be willing to give it a try if it supports the needs of the Covenant” replies Angus
"I am unfamiliar with the statues. Would they even work for Hamish? Many spells don't, because of his size."
