Chapter 3: At the covenant

[color=blue]There are only two pawns of herbam vis in these branches.

Upon asking about their feelings when they visited this location with the abandoned house the men replies. [color=red]Of course not where affected in some way by a abandoned house in the forest. Daniel however where never know for his bravery so who know what went wrong. Though the rain and the cold nights made us squabble a lot extra then normal. But no way that we are scared of the dark. By the voice and the looks of the men’s faces one can easily see that they react almost as if someone questioned their masculinity, although they remain polite to their masters.

I’ll assume that the magi are escorted to the location of the sick branches.

The location is easily recognised by Ardath, Yannick and Mariella it is the house where the werewolves families where slain. From beneath the house where the corpses where found a strange and sickly tree has sprouted.

[color=blue]Everyone is slightly angrier here than elsewhere. But non of the characters notices this even though everyone are affected.

[color=red]It is clear the problem is solved. This site was the site of an atrocity and has brought the influence of the infernal to the area. We must bring in a priest have the site blessed and then destroy the remains. Any attempt to use such corrupted vis would be foolhardy.
We should leave this place until we have brought a priest.
Come now.

Mariella turns to walk away obviusly expecitn the others to follow

[color=red]Aye. Heinrich leaves.

[color=red]This is strange indeed. I do not trust much a vis born in such tragedy, and the look of the tree is not engaging. I would assume true herbam vis to look healthier and more vivid.

To waste so much time on this, only to be brought back to the site of this useless massacre!!!
Moreso, if you're right, this may imply that, even after death, these poor souls are probably victim of demons... :imp: Yes, we should definitely cleanse the area, and we'll need to find the murderer and make him pay for fooling with us.

However, you presume maybe too much. This doesn't nescessarily means an absence of demonic interference, and thus, we should stay vigilant

[color=red]There is only one way to cleanse this place. Avenging the victims of this needless slaughter.
If you don't have the guts to use the gift that the dead are presenting us, I do, and I will be glad to accept it as a part of my share of vis.

Player ducks

[color=red]You are a fool Yannick. Vengeance is mine sayeth the lord, we will leave vengeance for the afterlife. I have said before I will see the onr who did this dead that will be justice not vengeance.
Now you suggest using vis tainted by the devil . Those are the words of a fool .
No more discussion. We will destroy this tainted vis and bring a priest here.
Do not go against me on this Yannick , I do not jest on such matters.

Mariella Turns to Ardeth and continues clearly dismissing Yannick from her attention
[color=red]If you can use terram magic to create a circle around this place we can create a ward against demons to try to contain any demonic spirits until we are able to have this place properly blessed and the infernal dismissed.
At least there should be no ghosts here as we gave a christian burial to the dead . So this Infernal sight will only be the result of the crime not corrupted spirits of the dead.

The magi, still bickering, return to Krispin at the covenant [color=blue](I assumed). He chose to stay behind, probably with Justus. [color=blue] Perhaps that makes his head less clouded… . He catches the tail end of the argument.

[color=red]“Yannick, Mariella, there is no need for fighting. The murder of these werewolves by our enemy was indeed foul, and requires justice, but we should not be hot-headed about it. Not using potentially tainted vis isn’t a question of guts, it’s a question of prudence – you of all magi ought to know the difference, Yannick. Calm down, sit, and stay your hand until we know more”

“Now, what happened in the woods?”

[color=blue](After getting the story from the others…)
[color=blue]Do I recognize the tree or type of tree by their description and/or any of its mystical or practical properties? (Int+ 3, Per+1, Prof:Apothecary 3, Survival 2, Mythic Herbalism 6). I will, of course, tell my sodales anything I figure out.

His eyes widen. [color=red]“Did anyone check for the presence of an aura? I think we all agree that there is some sort of malign influence, possibly demonic. If a ward can be erected, or the area cleansed by Father Gerald, so much the better.”

[color=red]Aye, I was alert for one... [color=blue]

I had Heinrich on alert - as noted above - for auras.

[color=blue]The piece of tree that are examined are a piece of holly, even though it is twisted and it grows a few thorns it is interesting. Over a season of study perhaps Krispin would learn much interesting things.

Father Gerald is summoned to cleanse the tainted location and perhaps a ward is erected. The infernally infested area is perhaps safe, at least for now. :smiling_imp:

End of chapter 3

[color=red]It'll be a pleasure. More safety to us.
I assume the soil to be earth. I'm going for something like this:
[color=blue]Create the earthly rempart (CrTe 05)
This spell creates a circular earth mound, up to 10 cubic paces (Of course, I'm creating something a lot more little).
Base 1 (Create dirt), +1 touch, +3 moon.

[color=red]As per the vis, if he is foolish enough to use it, well, let him have it! You're not his mater, nor am I, and he's free to make his own mistakes.

To yannick:
[color=red]Just let it stay away from me, and don't come complaining when the quaesitores come down on you.
However, I totally agree on the fact that the murderer will have to pay, and dearly
