[color=red]Even if the knights do not turn on you it is near certain that the crewmembers would they are supersitous and distrustful of magi and women both. Is you magic not capable of effecting the weather?

[color=red]Aye, I'll keep watch. Let's talk to the Captain and get his support to help keep an eye while we keep our distance. The more we can seem to be a boon to the crew and an active aide - rather than a feared and loathed party - the better we'll be able to act together if something should occur.
If something should happen - * Heinrich grins [color=red] we can swim. That and throw in an assortment of effects that look like we're trying our damndest. Heinrich's humor is suddenly paused [color=red] I hope the crew is sticking to as much shoreline as possible.
To Siegfried [color=red]We are younger and most of us as journeymen.
Well, as I see it, our only hope it that the storm comes from hermetic magic.
Since using one against us would potentially endanger our lives if one of us get thrown overboat, we can hope that the code'll protect us against this, and that our opponents will instead use more indirect means of attack, like slowing our ship down, or, instead, try to get us out of their way through good old certamen.
[color=red] "With four magi on board, we're probably not utterly helpless. But I agree that, with our level of experience, there's just not much we can do against a big storm. Still, let's keep watch. I'd like to be ready for it, even if there's nothing we can do about it.
While the storm could be Hermetic magic, I frankly rather doubt it. As we go farther north, the influence of our Order wanes - we Ex Misc. know that well enough. Hedge magic or something of the sort seems more likely."
The Kraken pulls out of Kolberg under Oar power and once safely clear of the coastal shoals , raises sail on its single mast and makes course towards Denmark. As is customery the vessle rarely strays far from sight of land , although while the weather is acceptable it does press on at night for longer than usual , althought the lack of moon light means they cannot travel for long at night.
The weather is not bad and the magi are fairly comfortable except for Ardeth who suffers from terrible Sea Sickness
[color=blue]OOC
Carry on with your discussions , nothing signifigant is happening
[color=red]A fellow hermetic magi would be our best chance, though I can’t say that it is our best hope. After all, a magus or a maga who commits piracy would not be that concerned if he or she kills a few extra persons. There isn’t that much of a chance that the Order ever finds out what happened to us if we are lost at sea. Justus looks brooding. [color=red]I have some experience with fighting against non-hermetic magic, though I can’t really say that I trust my abilities that much. Any way… Justus takes a breath, We can’t see into the future so there is little good in speculating about what hasn’t happened yet, our fate lies with the Lord. A different matter that I think that we must remember to discuss later. We need to develop means to communicate and otherwise act within company of others or while within the dominion.
[color=red]Sigh... So many things to do, and so little time and ressources to do it...
Addition to the above post
Ardeths comments are punctuated by a retching noise and the smell of your quarters noticably deteriorates
[color=blue]Thanks, I thought about it after the post.
Back to the nearest overture to the sea
[color=blue](Actually, I am horribly seasick myself )
[color=red]Can someone perdo the vomitus?
[color=red]Fortunately, we should relatively free of the Dominion while at sea. But I agree. Perhaps we should discuss this at the next council meeting?
(after Ardath’s… unpleasantness)
Krispin carries his apothecary’s tools and simple remedies with him wherever he goes. If he happens to have a mundane remedy for seasickness or nausea on hand (it seems like something he’d bring, since he knew he’d be aboard ship), he offers it to a no-doubt miserable Ardath.
[color=red] "Here, dear lady. It will almost certainly be vile, and I can’t promise it’ll be totally effective, but I urge you to try it. Entirely mundane, but often surprisingly effective, I assure you."
Silently lamenting the absence of their Perdo specialist, Krispin heads out on deck to escape the smell. Looking over the side, he notices several dolphins playing in the wake of the Kraken. Not unusual, in itself – their ship has been accompanied by the beasts off and on since it left. In the middle of the group, however, he notices an oddity – the same dolphin has been accompanying them for a number of days. It is marked by a distinctive white patch on the side of its head.
Not really knowing what to do, but wondering if this is related to the dove in some way, he walks over to Justus, who has perhaps left the cabin as well. He speaks to him quietly, and makes sure none of the crew are around (and that the dolphin is to far away to hear them, just for good measure).
[color=red] "Justus, my eyes may be deceiving me, but… I think that dolphin with the white spot has been following us. Have you noticed it as well? It may just be the rigors of the journey and I’m nervous about nothing, but could you tell me, is it magical?"
Justus looks around and tries to spot the white dolphin, [color=red]Krispin I have not seen it but shall try to find it. Once Justus locates the dolphin he tries to use comprehend magic upon it. As usual he will immediately stop if he senses that it is an hermetic wizard.
[color=red]Hum, well, sure, once I.........
(Goes to the side of the boat)
Mwwwwarg!
[color=red]I'm a terram magus, no wonder the sea hates me T-T
Turning back to krispin
[color=red]Now, hand me this...
Back to the sea
Back to krispin, seize the decoction, drinks it, back to the side
It seems the very wind is agaisnt Ardeth as it gusts at jsut the wrong moment returning her gift from the sea.
However once Krispins potion has taken effect she feels better , still horrible but at least able to keep the contents of her stomach down.
Justus can determine that the Dolphin is magical but that its magic resistance is high enougth to block a deeper investigation
(I make your penetration about 15 with a dice roll of 9)
Justus makes a few attempts more, if possible, and informs his fellow magi about the result.
After two days of uneventful travel the Kraken docks briefly at Lubeck where they intend to get Fresh water and some Fresh supplies the Ship arrives early and plans to be docked only for a few hours.
Only a few of the crew go ashore to collect the supplies
Once the ship Leave port Justus again sees the magical dolphin and upon concentrating upon it precieves that it is protected by a Parma Magica but that there are also a few traces of none hermetic magics
discretely - [color=red]Mayhaps we try to contact the Hermetic dolphin and see if we can make contact? I've got my ways of Silent Conspiracy that may aide in at least trying to initiate a dialogue. [color=blue](CR/Me - lvl 15 - +3 bonus (Puissant) I'd like to make contact and ascertain if this is a scout for another assault or a surveillance.
Heinrich will also take subtle or easy-going overt measures to help out with crew, learn some short-term basic deckhand (swab the deck; secure a line) and will even redress for the occasion if extra clothes are available.
Pining away for shore leave - [color=red]Three hours? I couldn't possibly make Oculus and back in time. Maybe we should send our friendly Yann-crow-nick to let some friendly sodales know what's going on - especially to get a log of events off to the covenant closest to the events that transpired?
As soon as possible, jumps to the shore, kiss the blessed earth
And I'll ask Krispin for more of his medicine before setting foot again on this accursed craft!
[color=red]Yes. Moreso, if we have problems on the way, especially with hermetic wizards, this gives us an edge.
And please, can someone tell me how long before we arrive?
One of the Sailors laughs at Ardeth and says
[color=red]Six more days and we will ahve real weather in the Skaggarak
[color=blue]Where the Danes also dance to Reggaenarak - obviously derived from Ragnarok. Beware the Jamaican-Scandinavian end-times: dances to end all dances.
