sounds good to me
Sound good for me to
[color=green]Clara
Looking at her husband, a slightly pained look on her face (for him, the pain)
[color=red]She's right, you know? You've got to trust people sometimes, and have faith in them. How can we live if we don't each others and just keep to ourselves? I don't want to live without you either, and here is this gracious lady, offering maybe a solution to this. We should at least give her a chance, shouldn't we?
[color=green]Wirth
Mumbles. He fears a trap, this can't be that easy, but there's this flicker of hope... And clara is right, too, wiser than he is, even if it's a wisdom he just can't have. But still, this could so easily be some kind of trap or poisoned deal!!!
[color=red]Sigh... You're right, both of you.
To maryssa, slightly bowing.
[color=red]Excuse my suspicions, milady. As you said, such things runs among the order. I shall give you what you need.
[color=blue]
I am sooooo going to regret this ![]()
Whenever he can, Wirth speaks to roberto, explaining him the deal.
[color=red]I don't trust her, but I must give it a chance, I just can't pass it along. I'd just like to ask two things out of you:
To take care of my wife if something happens to me, and to help me in my vengeance, should any harm befall her
[color=red]"Thank you, I will develop the ritual and inform you of its details by the end of next season
[color=green]Wirth
[color=red]It is I who should thank you. If this succeeds...
The evening meal winds down and the magi retire to their chambers to rest until morning. The night passes unventfully although when they awaken all the visitors have vague memories of bad dreams but the details are beyond recall.
The breakfast is excellent as all the meals have been.
A servant arrives as the group is preparing for travel and silently leads Roberto to the solarium where a young women dressed in white hunting leathers with a silken veil. She speaks with the voice of a very young child .
[color=red]Magus Roberto I have investigated the matter of the visions you saw on your way here. I have consulted with spirits and peformed divinations . Of the three visions you saw on the way here that of Iolar's parents was drawn simply from the memory of the spirits of this wood. The vision of the boy being burnt was drawn from the mind of your colleague Wirth , from his dreams and nightmares.
She pauses and drinks from a crystal glass containing a deep red wine , pausing for several seconds despite Roberto's obvious impatiance.
[color=red]"The last vision was the most complex and the most difficult to determine the truth about. The spirits of this wood are old and complicated they are both fay and magical which makes it most difficult to predict or explain their actions. Most of them have no power beyond the boundaries of this wood but some of the more powerful ones , and some of the foreign ones trapped within the woods have some power beyond it.
My own scrying and spirits are not at their most effective as far as Iberia but after some study I beleive I can tell you much of what you wish to know.
The vision itself was not a true vision of events much of the detail was lifted from your thoughts , fears and desires so the truth of each image you saw is not to be believed.
However the village was destroyed , there where I beleive many atrocities and many of those who died are unquiet spirits tormented by their fates and those of their freinds. Magic has been used to cloud the visions of the past and the one who did it is skilled in the arts of necromancy at this range I cannot easily pierce the spiritual veil he has placed I would need to use a spirit of great power to break the veil and none of those I command are currently available for such an action.
[color=blue]OOC
As I am still having home pc problems and may not be able to post again before tuesday (hopefully I will have some thing working tonight but...) I Thought I would wrap up events . Apart from any final questions you have or discussion between yourselves this is the last of the events here
Once Roberto returns from his meeting the mages depart from the covenant , as they leave Iolar joins them again although still she seems quiet and subdued, she explains she has spent her time with Marrissa and Lara catching up on the affairs of house Bjornear in her absence. The journey back aong the forest path is much faster than the journey to the covenant although the forest is still dark, dank and dismal. There do not seem to be any visions while travelling through the forest although the feeling of being watched continues.
Genevieve joins the group to guide them back through the wood , and presents to Aelinius a gift from the elders of Shadows of the Past as a mark of their regard . The gift seems to be an old leather bound book.
Finally though as the mages can see the signs of daylight ahead as the woods begin to open up they see a field off to one side , the field contains ripening grain and standing above the grain are a group of straw dolls each of which seems to resemble one of the group except Genevieve . Just as the magi are passing the field they hear the noise of someone running through the field turning they see a young women running through the field obviously in fear , trying to reach the path. Just before she does a great golden eagle , swoops down from above striking her with it's talons and leaving her body lieing in a spreading pool of blood just at the edge of the path. The eagle is huge with a wing span of easily 10 feet , it turns and meets the eyes of the magi with a steady glare and then starts to rip pieces of meat from the corpse and swallow them .
With a serious and sincere face [color=red]I so swear, upon my life and sacred honor!
[color=red]I see. I thank you for your grace and informitiveness He tries his best to show humbleness and decorum, but his anger and sadness show slightly (such as he grits his teeth while smiling).
I of course write an immediate letter to Santiago.
There seems as if we must visit the covenant here in the forest every time we pass by this forest. Aelianus sighs. Anyone with an idea of what that strange vision meant?
With Aelinius's question unanswered the group is able to return to the covenant without further incident
Covenfolk of Shadows of the past
Some peculiarities of Shadows of the pasts covenfolk which may come up , they are all technically creatures of magic . They all have a magic might of about 5-20 mainly around 5 . This makes them fairly unaging which is a good thing for them as they don't have many children, Unless the father lives outside the Aegis all children born will be girls, so there are very few males within the covenfolk further male children do not seem to gain magic might so they are ordinary humans living in a level 6 magical regio so warping tends to give them short but interesting lives.
The covenfolk all have the minor virtue unnafected by the gift , looking at RoP Magic they do not clearly fit into any of the catagories of magical human but are a new one of warped humans.
They are all pagans although the exact faith varies depending on what faction they follow. There are celtic and Romano/Greek factions linked to the different magi factions. Quite a few are shapeshifters or skinchangers of some sort.
How interested is Aelinius in Aquiring Alohani as a forge companion?
The gift from shadows of the past is a book entitled
"The Bounty of the Land"
Summa Herbam Level 12 Quality 15
Spell text of The Bountiful Feast
Aelianus is very interested in acquiring Alohani as a forge companion. He is prepared to pay Shadows of the Past for any loss and bribe her with what material wealth she can think of. A stone house within the walls, a own workshop, dresses made from the finest quality etc.

Visibly impressed and touched by roberto's declaration.
[color=red]
I thank you. My... friend.
Looking roberto in the eyes, a smile ![]()
[color=red]I am happy to be able to call you that. I hope. If ever you need my help, just asks.
[color=red]
I'll take you up on that one day
[color=green]Wirth
[color=red]I look forward to it.
To bask in the Light of Flambeau Honor and Comeraderie; even though I know it is fictional, it is still a glorious thing
. But then again, isn't that the purpose of fiction? To hold up the greatest of human Virtues and Vices for examination, for our appreciation or revulsion? To learn life lessons from fictional figures of legend, grandiose though they may be, having real actual meaning and value in the real world
House Flambeau totally rules and kicks ass
[color=red]Great fiction inspires us to greater things, or, if we're lucky, to become ourselves better human beings
Well said
