Chapter 5: Travel to Duremar

Justus still concentrating on his spell. [color=red]No…. that’s it… what shall we….. do?

[color=red]We're in deep shit.

However, what matters is the current situation of the spring and the covenant, we can't change tribunal like this, and I doubt rhine covenants would like to lose us to novgorod.

OOC
My impression is that this message would arrive after we set out to kill Hedwig. So I am not letting the information effect my actions in that thread . Can I clarify that

Yes this is after the Hedwig hunt.

[color=red]Yup.

I’m not the greatest public speaker, but I would come to shore up support for us and perhaps provide another vote on the floor. I imagine we’d have at least some support. The people Justus owes favors to probably don’t want him thrown to the wolves before they can collect, and hopefully the Rhine will want to hold on to us as a matter of pride, rather than appear weak from losing us to Novgorod.

[color=blue] So just to clarify, what enemies might we be facing at Tribunal? That is, who does it look like would be maneuvering to get us switched? This Rastavan character? Or Constantia herself? What sort of case do they have? It looks sketchy for either side, which means it will probably come down to debate prowess and ability to find allies, is that right?.

Sorry, I’ve only skimmed GotF, but if that’s needed, point me to a page I can figure it out.

[color=red]Regardless of the action on the political front we cannot leave the covenant empty with this problem. At least one of us should travel to Durenmar with our sigils for the tribunal. I cannot afford any more interuption in this seasons lab work so I would prefer to stay here. Also I am probably best suited to defend the covenant. Of the other three of you I don't think any of you have any special skills to change the situation at the tribunal so I leave it to you to decide who will go

Justus speaks though his voice is hampered by the strain of concentration. [color=red]We return as fast as we can then and then we can speak of any action. We need the sigils after all to vote here.

[color=red]Gut, gut. Let's get back!

Unless someone does anything else Justus gets magical aid from a old friend to get the both magi back faster.

[color=blue]:lol: Oh, no! These must be one of Justus' "friends" that expects repayment by handing over the keys to the covenant. Watch that credit tab, Justus! :slight_smile:

Both Justus and Henrich return to the council hall. Once every magus is there Justus begin to speak as soon as they are seated.

[color=red]Soldaes, Justus takes a pause, [color=red]I have a suggestion. I return to Duremar to guard our covenant against any attacks during the tribunal. One of you remain here to guard our covenant and the rest tries to investigate the foes who are against us. We thread on the outskirts of the code but I think that that is the least of our worries here. I return by mundane means so you may use the flying carriage that I borrowed, make sure that it is not damaged. That will cost us more vis than we can afford.

[color=red]I fear the situation leaves us little to no choice.
I shall investigate.

[color=red]Aye, I imagine I must go. I cannot guard entirely and effectively if I were to remain.

[color=red]It would seem most sensible for me to stay and guard the covenant as my martial prowess is probably the greatest

[color=blue]Nothing will happen at the covenant so if you wish...

[color=blue]I love story guide ex machina (of sorts). It's like a kinda carte blanche limited.

Not sure of what you mean but I think it is a compliment so thanks.
