[color=red]Nestor? Nestor of Bonisagus? I am ardath filia Konstantin ex miscellanea, I saw you at a tribunal while I was an apprentice. We thought you lost to the north. What happened here? Are you alright?
Nestor if it is he lets out a low cry of animal rage , both of the wolves leap forward racing towards the magi.
One of the Ravens remains on Nestor's shoulder while the other swoops low over Regius's head. Regius sinks to his knee's snarling and growling.
A spell strikes at the parma of Ardeth but is deflected.
With my magic boots (+3 to Init for Fast Trigger and spending confidence as needed), I "Wizard Leap" alongside one of the wolves and try to bury my blade in it's skull (meaning I attack, full out, spending Fatigue and as much Confidence as I can in an attempt to kill or incapacitate the wolf as quickly as possible with a first-strike).
Justus Felix immediately leaps into action. The magus is attacking him, terrified of what could happened if he where the target of un-comprehended magic Justus attempts to comprehend the magus magic.
Initiative order
1st Grog
Regius
Nestor/Odin
Raven 1
Raven 2
Riccardo
Krispin
Justus
Wolf 1
Wolf 2
Ardeth
2nd Grog
3rd Grog
The 1st Grog shoots an arrow at Nestor which seems to be a solid hit but is deflected by the wings of the raven.
Regius is clutching his head while Raven 2 circles him
Nestor gets off a second spell again targeting Ardeth which is again deflected by her parma
The first Raven continues to sit on Nestors shoulder, the second lands on Regius
Riccardo waits until the wolves have closed within range, Krispin chooses to do nothing offensive but moves to Regius to see if he can help
Justus succesfully probes Nestors magic seeing past his Parma and recognising a spirit very similar to the rage spirits possessing him but this spirit is more complicated and sentient.
The Wolves charge forwards and are almost upon the group when Riccardo appears behind one of them and drives his sword into its skull disabling it but not killing it (No confidence spent, fatigue spent condidence was not enougth to kill)
Ardeth creates a pit beneath Nestor but the raven counterspells her spell and it fails to take effect.
The last 2 grogs shoot arrows at the charging wolf one of the arrows pierces the hide of the wolf and draws blood
Round 2
The grog drops his bow and drawing his axe and shield charges the wolf which neatly leaps aside as he stumbles and almost falls
Nestor/odin once more tries a spell and targets Riccardo who fortunatly is still protected by Regius's parma however the force of his casting is most impressive (1+1+8) and Riccardo is affected by Confusion of the numbed Will
The Raven on Nestors shoulder caws loudly, the one landing on Regius flinches away from Krispin
I try to overcome the effects of the spell and continue fighting the wolves (whichever one is still active). I do believe their is a roll to overcome the effects, and if I roll high enough I break the spell.
Andrew, I can spend multiple confidence points in a single roll, keep that in mind
Just checked, forgot I had that virtue. Yeah, the mind of the serious soldier.
I just remembered I have an animal companion too! My trusty steed Annaeus
Where is he at in all of this?
I missed it when I checked
Riccardo is able to resist the spell but not break it (Total of 9 , 11 with confidence so no confidence used)
Riccardo teleports in behind the pther wolf shaking his head to clear it and strike a clumsy blow at the Wolf which defends itself by leaping away from Ricardo and landing on the grog who is also attacking it driving his axe firmly into its skull.
(Riccardo rolled a 2, the Wolf triple botched)
Just now looked up the spell. I need a 12+ to break the spell. If my total is 9, I spend a single point of Confidence for a +3 bonus for a result of 12, thus breaking the spell (the error is that you only assigned +2 for Confidence, and also forgot that I can spend 2 points). This also means that my Combat actions are not penalized.
However, I do not spend any Confidence on that miserable combat roll. Just let it ride and let the grog have his glory. I will hope for better on my next action...
Which is to use my magic shoes to Wizard's Leap behind this rogue wizard and slide my sword between his shoulderblades. I will go all out and put everything I can into that roll.
Justus casts his spell at the spirit possessing the magus, his spellpenetrates the parma of the magus but is deflected by the might of the spirit.
Ardeth casts Wizards sidestep.
Krispin is trying to calm Regius.
The Wolf with an Axe through its head lies on the flooe looking dead
The Wolf Riccardo had previously incapacitated Rises from the ground with it's wounds partially healed and Bites at him , missing as its injurues obviously impair its efforts.
The two other grogs charge forwards and hack at the wolf which bit Riccardo , and they both hit it inflicting grievous wounds to it
Round 3
The grog whose axe the Wolf fell on recovers his axe and eying the wolf which seemed to recover from Riccardo's earlier attack starts trying to hack the head off this one.
Regius still seems incapacitated by some effect
Nestor/Odin Pulls the spear from the tree behind him cutting his hand on the blade as he does so , he then throws the spear at Justus. The spear glows with a red light from runes set into the blade, it slams into Justus with an impressive force, its magic cuts through Justus Parma inflicting a heavy wound before breaking free and heading towards Ardeth.
[color=red]Is nestor using voice to cast his spells or is he casting silently? If he is, I cast a [color=blue]Curse of the Unruly Tongue (ReCo 5, casting total 12+aura+die, penetration 2) [color=red]at him.
If he aint, I'll try to target one of the ravens with [color=blue]Sap the Griffin's Strenght (PeVi 5, casting total 14+aura+die, penetration 2).
[color=red]Justus! His ravens are countering my magicks! How is that even possible??? We need to destry them!
