Roberto is not a fan of the Wizard's Sidestep. It makes things confusing in battle for allies as well as enemies. He assigns Johan VanHalen and Fred Fisher to be Aelianus' "Defenders". Johan is a drunk and has double vision anyway, he is used to having a distorted view. [color=red]Just focus on protecting him from harm, let his spells and enchantments be your offensive power.
Oh, and protect the pinche gato as well. He'll cry if anything happens to his cat.
The second unit will be Roberto, Marcello, Pedro, and Carlos. These guys can fight as a "Trained Group". I have to check combat scores to be sure (and Roberto's Leadership), I might have to drop Carlos. But they have all trained together in the past. As for Roberto, I would say that it is reasonable to say that I could Fast Cast spells and still contribute to the group advantage.
The third unit shall consist of the two knights and everyone else we have. These guys might fight individually &/or as an untrained group.
We need to cover everyone with Parma also.
Diodorus looks at Roberto. I can take care of myself. Diodorus hold out his paw and flex his claws. I’ll beat you in a fair fight any day of the week. Fist against claw and I’ll will rough you up pretty badly before you can pluck a single strand of hair from my tail. I am a warrior cat of the proud lineage of white cats.
[color=red]Don't be stubborn. It isn't about how well you can fight or anything. Look, a solid punch in the nose will disrupt your ability to concentrate on casting spells or activate magic items. I am assigning two "shield grogs" to you so that you are free to cast and wand at people without distraction.
Aelianus: I have no issue with being guarded by mundanes, they have their use. However Diodorus feel that humans always seem to underestimate his martial skill. During our first year I did so too but when we met a brigand on the road one night Diodorus proved his skill.
[color=red]Look, he is your cat, do what you will with it. If he is part of your magical offense, so be it. Maye he shapechanges or something. I don't know. The main purpose of these two men will be to shield you specifically, so you can cast spells and use enchanted devices without disruption. I am trained to be able to fight alongside others, so that is what I shall do, and my spell casting shall consist of fast-cast spells. I can multi-cast if the opportunity arises,
...
Wait, this won't work. It would work better if I augmented myself as much as possible and fought as a single champion. I don't have the ability to extend my enchancement spells to others, so I would't be able to form a cohesive unit with them if I augmented myself.
Okay, new plan. I want you behind me. Johan and Fred are still your shield men, but I want you to cover me. i will go in blazing, and I want you to pick off any enemies coming at me that I don't see. Marcello will lead Carlos and Pedro as a trio of trained men (a Trained Group)[color=red], and the knights shall fight as individual champions as I will.
Iola patiently circles overhead waiting for something to happen
Wirth has already disappeared
I am ready. I will cover you with my spells. Diodorus keep close to me so you can keep me safe. Aelians readies his enchanted casting tool.
Wirth being invisible confuses the girl to no end. Her loyalty is to him and it seems that she can not comprehend him being invisible. ( think of a toddler and a person on the phone). She will bolt in a panic if she can not see Wirth.
Roberto Fast-Casts "Wizard's Leap" (Masterd for Fast Cast & Stalwart), and grabs the prisoner.
[color=red]Wirth, get over here!
Iolar circles endlessly
((jebrick waits to see if Wirth will reappear))
Bane says something and Sir Richard speaks to Roberto:
Let her go. Bane has enough wood craft to follow her.
[color=red]Okay
And the hunt is on!
The girl leaps away from Roberto and off into the woods in the same direction the other "beast-men" had run. Bane waits a bit. Holding his hand up to signal everyone to wait. After a minute or two he sets off.
The tracks lead you into the woods and then into a steep ravine. At one point you are in a dry creek bed with overhanging bushes and Bane stops and moves back a bit. Once everyone stops moving you can hear a buzzing sound in front of you and to the sides. A glance in the bushes close by reveal many(7) wasp nests ( the large papery kind). Bane says something to Sir Richard and he translates for everyone else.
Bane is sure she did not go this way so we might have to move back to find where she went off the creek bed.
Iolar lands and transforms. She points to a overhanging rock about 100 yards off the trail and slightly behind you. "she went in there. Very hard tosee because of the shadows."
Okay.
I go there, veeeery carefully
Iolar stays at the rear and casts Feathers of flame (As coat of flames but Range P Damage +10, rego req protects caster) CrIg (Re) 20 to give herself some protection particularly from wasps
Roberto is alert for any signs of activity, and boldly goes forth.
A slight misunderstanding. You do not have to go through the wasps to get to the hideout. you can backtrack a short way and go around them.
The Lair is about 30m above the floor of the ravine. A large rock overhangs it and makes it difficult to see the entrance. If Iolar had not pointed it out you might not have noticed it.
I presumed we could go around the wasps, however I expect to get swarmed by them at some point becuase I am paranoid.
