Character: Daria LaGris

Pretty sure imminent death trumps other issues

I updated Daria with her rites and new characteristics after her several ageing crises. It was fun searching for appropriate names for all rites in the Aeneid, not so much rolling for Ageing. She is a wizened old crone now. Decrepitude 4 and -3 physical characteristics do that to you.

Most of the time she will be moving around in an animated chair, built specifically for that use by the local carpenter. Instead of wheels it will have articulated legs, so it can go up and down the stairs of Triamore. Casting the spell that animates the leg-chair is the top priority of her at the start of each Moon period. She is still shrewd and has a strong mind, but her body is failing her fast.

This speed ageing process also taught me something: it is important to have at least one +3 characteristic to hold back the ageing process for a few years. I had never aged someone 20 years in one sitting before, and it was quite amazing to see her evolve from a regal noblewoman into a shade of herself. When you do it gradually the mental impact is lessened a great deal.

For all who are born are fated to die.

That's why some magi go to extreme lengths to gain a form of immortality.
