Design and discussion of Castra Piscis

I took a minor boon for inhuman inhabitants; mostly drowned "men" and orphan-born that were quietly recruited from around europe to come live in a non-christian sanctuary.

Wasn't sure if we have to pay double for technique vis/vis sources, by the book we don't, but I recall it was discussed (couldn't find the discussion though).

Otherwise, covenant is updated. Still have 395 BP unspent but saving that for adjustments and other people to spend if they want.

it does not cost double
orphan born teacher should cost 17 BP
the drowned men should be 8 points apiece

meaning you have spent 1038 BP

Putting the final touches on the covenant, I just realized that I built with 1500 bp, max 300 on books, but the wiki says 2000 bp, max 250 on books. I don't know where I saw the other set of numbers, but just want to confirm which is right.

At Flåm we build with 2000 BP and 250 BP on books. Flåm is about 50 years old, allowing it go to the limit. Younger covenants will have a lower cap from Cov.

The cap is from Silveroak, not Covenants. Specifically, the library and specialist caps.

There are two caps, but let's be precise:

Ok. I don't know where I was getting the 300 from. Probably is 1500 from youth of covenant.

@silveroak I have the build in final now.

Made some tweaks to library and vis, as well as finishing specialists.

With 4 magi income is 700 MP, not 1000.
Not that this should be a concern- I haven't calculated weapons cost yet but my current estimation is costs of 122 MP per year... (obviously labs are not finished for that calculation either)

I added the income calculations, haven't done it before so hoping it's right. I assumed three magi; and gave the 2 other custom labs the same upkeep as Xahansa's (since his is quite high).

Counts as a Spring Covenant, right?

It is spring
shields are either 1 point (round shield) or 4 points (buckler or heater), not 16 points
composite bows are not available,
turb purchased as specialists in terms of build points are not specialists when it comes to economics- the covenant has 6 specialists and 15 turb
This brings the inhabitants point totals to 54, requiring 9 servants. I would recommend taking 18 laborers to reduce costs in food, which then results in 2 teamsters. Total costs with this configuration is 138 1/3 lbs/yr/

Thinking about things from the point of view of the founder, I was more concerned about reducing reliance on the fish cultists than saving money, which is why I didn't put in laborers; we aren't exactly short on funds. I also meant to but forgot to double the wages for Loyalty purposes, which I am doing now.

noted and reasonable

You have noted a PC grog- what role does the PC grog play? This determines the inhabitants cost, not the fact they were made as a grog. I see three names on the website which have no development to date for grogs for Castra Pisces...

I haven't made him yet, just trying to do the finances then I will make and submit him. He will be autocrat, and will be the one who deals with the fish cultists on a day-to-day basis.

fiscally an autocrat is a specialist

Finished my grog:

Re Labs, the guest labs are standard - they cost 50 BP flat, so there no additional v/f's; paid 100 BP for two of them.

I wasn't sure if we needed to stat out Abraxas (the Tytalan Founder) and one customized lab is his.

The third customized lab is for whomever makes a magus from the covenant.

About the labs being discussed all over the place ...

Odysseus will have a sanctum ... probably expecting the size of a standard lab, but it isn't a lab and he won't have any expensive gear. If he is allowed to customise, he would want a gallery or similar feature. I suppose lab virtues with teaching bonuses could be relevant to mundane teaching too. Not that it is important mechanically, but galleries are cool.

You are allowed to customize and remember that there can be labs for philosophae, medicine, and artes liberales in addition to magic.
