In the Tomb of the Lichlord. The hero Tanin Shadefoot's special ability says "Pay 2 glory to get 1 additional boot this turn". I see the boot symbol without the diamond around it and with the diamond around it on various cards. Does this give the Hero an extra move? Does this also raise his move score by 1 when dealing with things like locked/trapped doors?

Actually yes and no.
The movement point symbol (boot alone) is different from the speed symbol (boot in a diamond or circle).
Movement points are like action points. Speed is like dexterity score in a role-playing game: a stat that describes how quick your hero is.
