Entropy & Creation (Spring 1236)

Rodrigo glares at you. Do you noy have plenty of insight to study? Are you being dogmatic about your proceedure? Or just greedy?
I told you the rules. I will return you to the mortal realm at any time you desire. Whatever you manage to acquire you may bring with you. But as I said, if you leave the carpet's sphere of protection, then you will break our invisibility and immunity to harm. Do what thou wilt. I shall not interfere..
Looking around, you see a priestess or shamaness or whatnot, standing before an altar with a bound slave, and holding a stone knife. You notice she is wearing a necklace with several different charms. Figurines shaped like a fat woman, skinny woman, snake, a skull, and other trinkets.

Fleur improvises a spell- instantly transport an item up to 5 paces (base 4) duration mom, target individual(necklace), range: voice (+2): total level:10
roll: Re(1)+Te(1)+sta(3)+aura(10)+stress die(4)+1 confidence(3)=22 divide by 2 with long term fatigue, and teleports the priestess' necklace to her hand. Assuming no real penetration is required...

Rodrigo smiles at you then laughs. Hahaha! How clever you are! I am impressed. You have gained more than you know, and I reccomend you take caution with it. Now, what is your next direction?

Fleur sits barely breathing for a moment to see if the strange people react, When they do not she thinks for a moment, then finishes her copies of the drawings- they probably won't be good enough to gaininsight from, but they will at least be a reference for her future research. Once she has finished she tells Rodrigo "Okay, please take me home."

Oh, they do react at take it as some kind of sign. But you followed the rules so you stay protected and invisible.
Trizzle Trazzle Trism Trome! Time for this one to go home!
You find yourself in the valley outside the caves, with your entourage and your trinkets, and Rodrigo is nowhere to be seen.

"Okay everyone, lets head home now."

Is the necklace one possible source of inspiration or a collection of fertility fetishes?

What you snatched was but a vestage, an echo in the Magic Realm reverberating in sympathy with something in the mundane world.
But then again, you have the real object in hand now. Three fetish figurines, a serpent token, and a tiny skull. They are ancient and corroded. But viable and real. You know what to do with the fetish figurines. No idea what to do with the serpent and skull.
There are also two women in your party now pregnant, and a dragon kitten. Study that!
10 experience points for everyone. A bonus of 5 for Fleur, which may take the form of Vis since part of her adventure was in the Magic Realm.
Three points of Confidence to eligible characters.

Fleur will take 5 points each into Rego, Terram, and Ignem.
Epona will take 5 in faerie Lore, and 5 in sword (background practice, if the storyteller allows)

Are you sure? 5 pawns will let you take a new Minor Virtue and Minor Flaw. 0 pawns though, you can exchange a V or F for another of the same value.

would you allow ancient magic to be discovered this way instead of with research? If so I'll take 10 as vis and convert that to a minor virtue fertility ritual magic! (I'll use the inspirations to develop Fertility lore!)

No, but i would accept the other way around.

Fertility lore isn't a virtue, just an ability that requires a breakthrough (15 points of breakthrough).

Good point. But perhaps something that could help with your work down the line. Such as Puissant Corpus or a Minor Magic Focus in Fertility & Childbirth (or Minor Potent Magic in the same).
Explanation for exposure: There are many graphic details of the troglodytes that I would feel uncomfortable writing about in this sort of forum, which is why I referenced a book called [u]The Descent. You would love it. I think they made a movie from it. You saw horrible things, and fascinating things, that involve Corpus. Fertility, Birthing, Execution, Modification and Mutilation, Slavery, Excessive Indulgence, Bizzare Ritualism, and batshit crazy shit.
So yeah...

Lets go with inventive genius, put the remaining 5 points into creo.

Inventive Genius is not really thematically in step with what you witnessed. And you would have to take a Minor Flaw or trade a Minor Virtue.
Fleur gains 10 normal xp like everyone else. She also gets 5 points that may be taken as xp OR vis. She can keep the five pawns OR attain Transformation, or both. 0 pawns trades a Minor Virtue for another (any VorF for another of the same value). The full 5 pawns grants a new Minor Virtue & Minor Flaw.
And Inventive Genius is not appropriately fitting to your experience (RoP-Magic, page 26).

Then lets follow the original plan of 5 each in Rego, Terram, and Ignem

Allrighty then. Any closing thoughts, comments, or dramatic soliloquies?

Epona stares at the floor while Lucia rants. "You're what!?!
Pregnant.
Well it obviously isn't mine!
I can explain, sort of. You remember that quest I escorted Fleur on?
The one with the dragon cat, where the other woman came back pregnant, but not Fleur, that nobody wants to talk about what happened?
Yeah, that one, well, there was this sort of magical ritual...
So you slept with a man for a magic ritual?
No, well, not directly
Lucia stares coldly at Epona
I was with a woman, who was also with a man. It was Fleur, we've shared her bed together
So Fleur got you pregnant?
Fleur, or maybe the serpent dragon thing, I'm not really clear on that part.
So you went off on an adventure, came back pregnant, and you aren't sure who the father is, except that you know it's not a man?
Well if it is the serpent I didn't have sex with that either. It just watched.
Lucia cocks ne eyebrow and Epona's shoulders slump.

So beautifully well written! Three pawns award, any form.
