Me being a Dutchy, I would like to point to the bishop Nicolaus of Mira, who took care of poor children.
We call him Sinterklaas (which comes from Sint Nicolaas), which has an uncanny resemblance to Santa Claus, not?
He's not from the North pole, but in the northern countries he is described as riding a reindeer-drawn sleigh. (in the Netherlands he arrives by steam boat and rides a horse 'Amerigo' when landed. He't got red bishop's robes and a red hat.
So I would vote Santa te be divine, unless you rule him the antagonist of Saint Nicolaus, which would make him an infernal mockery of our beloved saint. (how he is perceived by many Dutch)
