January: The First Chapter of Our Saga

Theodora is momantarily speechless at the implied extent of the disaster looming and looks at her sodali's for inspiration while she desperatly tries to think of the crucial question she needs to ask to give her an idea of how to deal with this catastrophe.

"If the knight is free of them while you converse with Henri's ghost, one or two of us might do well to speak with the knight."

"Excellent Idea, one of you should go now"

While one of the other magi goes to investigate the faerie knight, Theodora tries to find out what details the Dead knight knows about the infernal cultists and their ritual , and if they happened to boast about the great weakness which could bring them down

I’ll stay with you Theodora. It is better if one of our combat able soldaes search for the night. I am not much of a daemon hunter but two magi is better then one.

[So, any volunteers not to hang around and talk to the ghost? What are the questions you are asking?]

Titius looks at the ghost. We need any information that can give us a clue to who put you through this fate? Who among your kin let you suffer this fate? We need names and places. And we need connections to them if possible. We summoned you through a mystical connection. That connection was this hair. Titius points towards the hair used to summon the ghost.

"THe demons play one against the other. Once I was struck down by my enemies, who knows which of my kin they sent their servants to sspeak to, to offer their support against the invaders? I know that the people who killed me for the demons use the old hours of Satanism, the Walpurgis in May is their highest day, but they meet at the dark of the moon, on mountaintops and in unhallowed groves. They walk the Devil's Roads, lit by corpse candles that the living cannot see, and thus are not known as they go from their homes to their rituals, and then return."

Do you have anything that we can use? We wish to stop this infernal plague. Any location or any name would be useful. Anywhere to start… Titius voice is more filled with desperation as he fumble with his thoughts to come up with useful questions to get some useful answers.

Recovering from her shocked speechlessness, and glad at least that thei infernal plot seems to precede her arrival in the area Theodora asks "Do you believe the infernalists are still in contact with members of both families? If so perhaps we can locate them through that. Or do you know where these wild locations they meet are to be found?"

"I do not know where they meet, but now that I am dead, I can see them, as they walk the roads to their meetings. All the dead know the Devil's Roads."

Can you tell us how does we find the Devil's roads. Are there any signs that we should look for or can you aid us? Perhaps we can see them with magic.

If all the dead can find the devil's roads it will be easy to find them , dead people are not difficult to find it is specific dead people who pose a challange.
"Do you know the names of any of the diabolists, or their servants?"

"I am bound to them, and cannot speak their names."

Perhaps we could use this spirit as an arcane connection to those who bound him, such magical bonds often go both ways and that would reslove many of our problems.

So,

Iohannes takes leave of his sodales and the ghost, to meet the faerie knight during the brief time he is not under the crows' influence.

"You are a faerie of the sea, and I am a faerie of the fresh water, that turns back the sea at the point of the bridge. I spare you only for your mortal blood. Why are you here?"

"I am of any place where I can raise sail or dip oar. I'm a traveler, yet I notice that your bridge can no longer be traveled. I am here to support you in your battle against the crows. You might not like the salt in my blood, but I don't like what they have been putting into yours," Iohannes gestures toward the corrupted area. "I would see you free of them, and your place healed of them. If they have their way, your fresh water will be fouled with corpses.

"I don't have much time to speak with you, before the crows return and subdue you once again."

Keeping an eye out for crows, and Second Sight for other things.

"I am too fouled with them to ever run clean again. Better to start the story anew. Remove the source of my corruption, remove the corruptors, remake the bridge and then slaughter me so that my role passes to another. Do it in that order, mind you."

Iohannes inclines his head. "When it comes time to fight you, is there something I should know, to make it easier on those who must do it?"

"The corruptors seem to be doing this elsewhere too, and I'd like to stop that. What insights do you have that might help?"
