The forum has quite a few options to improve a post's layout and I'm sure it has been explained somewhere. If yes, could you please link that?

The placeholder text, when you start typing a post, says to use MarkDown, BBCode, or HTML to format. Each of these terms may be googled to find a reference sheet/tutorial/comprehensive manual. Is that what you are after?

I know. I ignore it too ... only because I was addressing your question did I notice it.
I just put up a post about what options are available, and added it to the PINS posts in various spots. I hope this helps!
