Was Christian before much of Europe... which made me quite annoyed when living there and meeting heaps of European missionaries there today.. and some of them having less than savory ways of converting people.
Anyways today the country is more or less divided between Muslims and Christians (most Christians being of the special Ethiopian church) and with some few smaller nature religions in between. Actually the yellow bar in their flag represents religious tolerance. Another bonus info - it's the only African country never colonised and for that reason the jamaican Ras Tafari-movement took their name from the name of the last Ethiopian emperor.
