Named characters...

This is my reading of the rule, too--one application per 'type' of healing.

It's possible that folk might experience fighting named characters as dull if the campaign is low power. Our last campaign was high power, and the number of schtick combos and GM imposed constraints (e.g. 'you are in a nuclear reactor - no guns allowed - oh, but the opponent is a Fu specialist') meant that we had to think really hard in every fight about how to approach our opponent and put them down. Throw in a few mooks with odd schticks to keep things spicey, and fighting named characters is my favorite bit of FS.
