Obsession and Corruption
November 1226 - Adventure 23
Hyperides Hylas recovers his mother's body, that was inmured by nobleman Aymeric of Blois in the town of Gianakos. In the process he discovers that his aunt Euxodia has been psychlogically torturing the murderer and his son for years. Soon afterwards, Eric d'Ancelin and Kostas Allectoros travel to Pyramus with Theoclymenus, having received a letter from Vasileio Eiredopoios. Once there they are confronted by Hannelora, who has become a powerful diabolist. Her turn to the infernal has apparently happened under the influence of the demon of Saint Angelos, and perhaps with the help of Father Gurgos, a priest in Constantinople. After defeating her and capturing her alive, they imprison her in the nunnery to which Anna of France has retired, under her surveillance.
Participants:
- Eric d'Ancelin
- Kostas Allectoros
- Theoclymenus
Note: This was intended to be a long and complex investigation adventure about the murder of Hyperides' mother, but due to poor planning on my part they managed to quickly solve it with magic in half an hour. I didn't want to punish clever thinking with a "you can't do that" just to salvage the adventure, so I decided to let them "win the adventure" since they clearly earned it, and instead ran the second adventure from Hannelora's chapter in the Antagonists book. As a Story Guide, sometimes you need to let go of your planning and adapt to the circumstances.
