Someone is trying to get other people to play our game

While early reviews stick to excessive summaries, later reviews include scans of text inserts from the book. I too think it's great that someone is heralding our work, but actual scans seem a bit much.

Wow, those are detailed descriptions. I think the author has achieved a heroic feat in summarizing so much, and at least as far as the Augustan Brotherhood is concerned does an excellent job. It may well break the Berne Convention: however intent should be considered, and this lady or chap has worked extremely hard to promote Ars Magica. I would say that the benefits of that far outweigh any potential sales loss from people skimming précis of the material - I mean there are 2,818 words in his description of my chapter of Rival Magics, and about 26,000 in the chapter I think? It's about 11% of the material long as a summary, and as such seems to me to not really run the risk of people not buying the book. I have not looked at any more, but I get quite the contrary impression -- I suspect this can only help sales of the book. Reading other stuff on that thread made me want to buy it! If people want to steal material they will and there are ways that will give you 100% of the words ,not a summary. So this strikes me as a good hearted (if technically illegal) attempt to promote the game from which little harm will ensue and a great deal of good likely will. Up to Atlas though, not me!

I suspect that even if illegal that said thread will end up making more sales than costing sales.
