Are there many ghosts around? Any that we can interact with? Anything else significant with the room if we tour it?
There are a handful of ghosts around, they aren't talking much here, though a handful are sleeping on the pallets.
Bartomeus continues to remain largely quiet, taking notes and observing all he can. Occasionally his eyes glass over a bit as he shifts his perspective to Aurelius's view of things.
As the trio walks around, he comments: "We'll need to get a sense of the speed of time here. I wonder if it's like some Fae regios where the time runs at a different pace than our world."
"The only way to really find out the speed of time here would be to go back. I think we should explore the rest of the atriums, collect the rocks Mingus left behind, and see if there's anything else of interest, and then we can see what we do from there. Thoughts?"
"Sounds like a good plan to me."
"Agreed," nods Bartomeus with a smile. "Maybe not so mad after all, that Mingus."
After a few Atriums as you head to each, pick up a rock and get out the distinct settings begin to blur together. When you are down to 2 Atriums left you begin to get hungry, suggesting your bodies believe it to be mealtime.
Seeing as there is no ghost salad chef, Anastasia will eat some rations unless anyone insists on going back to the covenant for lunch.
Kriegeist shakes his head. "We have two left, let's get them, then go back home, and look over what we found. We need to figure out the language issue, then revisit here. The only other thing to explore is the bridge, and I think it would be wiser if we could talk to the villagers before we confront that. Perhaps we could kill the guardian, but if we did it may make us their enemy, and if we could talk to it it would be much simpler."
"Sure. I agree with picking up the rest of the stones and taking some time to analyze what we've obtained." Anastasia will still snack a bit on the way.
Bartomeus checks in with Aurelius, asking the familiar if it had seen anything interesting and if it had found any juicy mice. He moves along with the others, following their lead and offering to assist however they need.
"There are no mice here, not in any of the building realms, except the norwegion atrium, but the mice there were too fast. The bridge is like a regio, more so than the houses."
You get the last two regios and head back- xp for the adventure is 9, Bartomeus gets 2 confidence, Anastasia gets 2 confidence, Kriegeist gets 1 confidence.
When checked the vis turns out to be 2 pawns per atrium and 2 for the main village- the main village is mentem vis, as is the rock for northern Scotland, Brittany and Wroclaw. Northern Germany, central france, the north coast of the black sea, central denmark, eastern Ireland, the west coast of Finnland, Bologne, North of cork, Gotland, halfway between prague and Berlin, Nordland, and Uppsala each have 2 pawns of corpus vis (8 pawns mentem, 24 pawns corpus) The Norwegian Coast contains 2 pawns of animal, while Riga and Lithuania each have 2 pawns of vim vis. The Cambrian mountains, Carpathian mountains, the Bohmerwad mountains, Tatra mountains, east of Alsace, Waddenzee and Burgandy each contain 2 pawns of terram (14 pawns terram), The Isles of Scilly contain 2 pawns of aquam vis, and Saxony contains 2 pawns of ignem vis.
Once Kreigeist reunites with an-Enlilda, he will ask if the Daimon knows Raetian, or anything about the place they went.
To clarify, do you use the rule on p. 26 of RoP:M re: advancement as vis, which leads to new virtues rather than actual experience?
"The place you went are rival lands, under the control of the... I don't know if Trolls or Jotun would be a better description. I don't know Raetian myself, but I know the early Romans had some documents describing the language, and both Celtic and Germanic languages descended from it. The Roman documents weren't exactly translation guides, but they could help, I expect the best location for them would be in Rome, the Pollio library, which of course has retreated into regio."
after a pause "while the Jotun were rivals of the Titans 5000 years ago, for the breakthroughs you seek they may well be allies."
At some point in the next few days, Kriegeist will mention to the other magi that there is a library in a regio in Rome, called the Pollio library, that might contain texts from which Raetian could be learned.
So total is: 8 Mentem, 24 Corpus, 2 Animal, 4 Vim, 14 Terram, 2 Aquam, 2 Ignem.
Adding to wiki.
In case you missed my question.
I do use that rule, though the characters would not be aware of it yet. The amount of experience gathered as vis is determined by what portion of the season they spend in the magic realm.
Assuming rocks are placed at each location and checked fairly regularly it will rapidly become evident that all of the amounts harvested from the magic realm accumulate per season, but if left unharvested do not continue to collect.
Ah, I thought because the 9 xp came from an adventure in the magic realm, we would have accumulated 9 vis.
