The spell (in Covenants, pg 100) is a Rego Animal spell. Would the spell still work if the book pages were made of papyrus and bound in leather?
And a follow up question.
Say the book is removed and then brought back into the circle. The spell would still be in effect on the book, correct?
Never mind the follow up. After re-reading Ring duration I see that the spell is broken once the book is removed from the circle.
Probably, as the spell would still block the covers. If someone were to remove the cover, though, the book could be taken, as the papyrus would fall under Herbam rather than Animal.
