•Gloriana will speak to each Council member, she wishes to get their opinion on which tribute to Evandrus they feel honors him best, the artist involved gets a LR from Gloriana at her expense.
The choices:
"Evandrus with the clay of life" AQ:25 sculpture in pottery
"Evandrus and the secret wisdom " AQ:22 tapestry
"Evandros in the faerie glade" stained glass AQ: 15
"Evandrus and the Dryads" wooden statue AQ:19
"Evandrus and the gnomes " AQ:23 stone statue
"Evandrus faerie friend" bronze sculpture AQ:18
She will direct Lucio to poll the coven folk for their favorite, as well.
•Gloriana also comes before the Council to express her readiness to assume Evandrus's role in casting Aegis of the Hearth at the end of 1136. (Likely score: ReVi 31 + 3 Mastery + 5 Sta + 6 Aura + 10 AL/Phi + 2 props + 2 loud voice/vigorous gestures vs 30th level Ritual, +7 extra Penetration, spend 3 Vim/Rego pawns, 0 chance of botching)
Anna would actually be happier with the vis being disbursed to the magi.
OOC: Anna vaguely knows that usury and miserliness are sins, and doesn't understand how banks work. Shouldn't they pay the Redcaps to store the vis? She also knows that the Divine essentially has a Sword of Damocles over her head due to the Unaging virtue the Divine gave her. So she feels compelled to make an effort to withdraw stuff from the bank.
Oliverius supports the idea of pulling vis from the Mercere. He is happy putting it into the covenant stocks if it is turned into more covenant improvements via ritual and items, or into the magi's personal vis coffers if they aren't turned into improvements. He feels there's no reason to flood our already glutted covenant supply without earmarking any of it for improvement. As far as for books, we have a good library, but could always use more tractati on the elemental arts, and we could certainly use more breadth of lab texts. He'd be particularly interested in lab texts for more complex and powerful enchanted items, so that he could study how they've been put together.
In terms of the covenfolk who aren't associated with a given crafter (for example, masons prefer "Evandrus faerie friend") "Evandrus and the clay of life" narrowly beats out "Evandrus and the Gnomes". As point of detail "Evandrus and the clay of life" draw a certain visual parallel between Evandrus and Prometheus as creators of life.
And noted, Oliverius will say he much prefers "Evandrus Faerie Friend", but he feels that "Evandrus with the clay of Life" is most true to Evandrus's magical legacy.
Oliverius is interested in cashing in some of his vis of account for more creo, terram and vim vis, if he could trade in 10 of each for future crafting, he would be happy, but would transfer as much as he can get at the prime rates. Vis of account is convenient, but not immediately transferrable to enchanted items as he prefers.
Anna is leery when it comes to personally intervening with another couple creating a child. However, Anna would be willing to teach a Mercere maga or magus Fertility Magic free of charge. She could hit a Q24 requirement with the teaching lab. She was taught free of charge after all.
Anna has no opinion on which work of art should be used to honor Evandrus.
They are willing to trade all of Oliverius' vis of account in for creo, Terram, and vim- creo and vim are at 1:1, Terram is at 2:1, and if you take more than 3 queens of creo the 4th queen will be at 2:1 and after that it is at 4:1
Hmm, for some reason I thought terram was at 1:1. He'd gladly trade in for a queen of vim and creo. He has a nice supply of terram right now, but as a metallic magus was interested in keeping it ahead.
Aurthor asks to Redcaps for details about these deals. About rates and quantity of vis available in particular.
He also asks about a massive order of books that he intends to propose to the council.
Ten tractati of good quality for: each Art and Form, Magic Theory, Finesse, Order of Hermes Lore, Code of Hermes, Penetration and Parma Magica. For a total of 210 books. Is it feasible? How much would it cost?
It looks like you are trying to sneak in the rules for mass printing and libraries from Transforming Mythic Europe. Oliverius wants to make sure our library can handle the load in space before we commit to anything like that.
Anna supports purchasing more books, but she thinks the current method of doing it were we buy the good books on market the best way to go about it. She suspects that just buying whatever the Redcaps have lying around won't produce the best results. Perhaps we could contribute some of the vis of account to advertising and commissioning books from decent authors.
OOC: The rules for massive libraries are quite silly.
•While Andros admires Aurthor's great plan, he has no problem with the current system: yearly purchase cycle + tomes obtained through adventures. Indeed, he would prefer Lab Texts (for all common spells in Core and many devices) and Bonisagi folios, if anything is going to be purchased. Anna's concern of getting lesser works also mirror Andros's own worries. Andros also feels that the quality of the Praesidium's own works is so superior to their purchases, that ten tractati/subject is excessive. The Praesidium also has a sizable number of works already in some subjects (Magic Theory!) He'd be ok with 4 tractati/for each subject proposed by Aurthor, and a 1000 magnitudes of Lab Texts or so and all Bonisagi Folio that can be obtained. He would also add Concentration to the list of tractati subjects.
•Danaë fully supports Aurthor's massive purchase from the Mercere, if 4-5 tractati each for Warding, Second Sight, and Sihr are included in the order.
•Gloriana supports a more modest purchase, although she is not averse to many texts on Creo/Me/Co, she would like a good summa for Art of Memory included, and definitely Lab Texts for common spells.
