The council chamber

If he can't the redcaps certainly can.

Gloriana insists on speaking to Zola and Aroldo herself, Lucio can attend. "I have offered a precious reward for the exaltation and remembrance of my great master Evandrus. It is perhaps an affectation, a whim. You may find it silly, perhaps? But the sentiment and the promise of the Ritual of Longevity is very real, I assure you! It delights me that you wish for your partner to also partake, but that is not the prize I promised. And yet! My master always provides me with inspiration. I will bargain with you both. Release me from the promise to craft Zola Potter's reward. Say out loud you consider it done, and my promise fulfilled. In exchange, in about 5 or 6 years, perhaps more, subject to my studies, health and other obligations, I will endeavor to craft your Rituals, if you yet live, as part of experiments to further Evandrus's pursuit of knowledge, the mantle I have inherited. Experimenting is fraught with danger, but also rewards. Things may not work out as expected. I will pursue this more as an academic pursuit, and you will make yourselves available to my interests and schedule. Is this agreeable? You should know that once you go through the Rituals, you will never have offspring again, although this may not trouble you overmuch. The extended life granted will wreak changes in your very selves, as the magic changes it, and these cannot be predicted. What do you say?

Gloriana will speak glowingly of Mercurio's many talents. She considers him a vital asset to her projects, and while she doesn't need him for every one, she will be protective of insuring his continued services, dismissing Lucio's "bureaucratic officiousness" as "misplaced". If Mercurio chooses to become a "merchant adventurer", she will support this, but unhappily, unless he can sneak seasons of lab help every once in a while.

Andros will see if he can fit these in 1139. As for Adriana, he considers her debt settled, as her adventure was successful, and proved her usefulness to the Praesidium. He does not wish her to enchant the cloak at all, just the Weavers to pool their talents to create the perfect mundane item, according to his instructions (a Talisman has to be enchanted by its creator, a wondrous cloak would not work for those purposes, afaik). Andros will not discuss the cloak with anyone except the Weavers and Danaë, whom he had hoped would serve as a go-between.

Andros desires this knowledge, but it will be only be useful once his mundane items are crafted.

YES from Aurthor and Arduino.

Oliverius is content to allow Andros to purchase the items of Virtue etc, and will vote to allow it.

Mercurio will privately assure Gloriana that he can easily sneak seasons to work for her for important projects. His assurance comes out almost as a romantic promise, but Gloriana is familiar enough with Mercurio that she knows he just waxes poetic around attractive women, such as Gloriana and Sybilla. The only significant change is that if such a task is personal rather than covenant duties, he will one day have the ability to call in a favor, such as a a longevity ritual, perhaps an item to aid in his adventures, or a candle-lit dinner.

Zola and Aroldo agree to put off the longevity rituals so that they can both undergo them.

Gloriana is as pleased as a purring cat. She will study her parens Breakthrough in LR to see if she might add to or complete his work with these 2 LRs. Now to gather the Co vis!

For my plans, has the council decided on what to do with Mercurio? Gloriana wants to keep him as an assistant full-time obviously, and Oliverius will vote with her on that, since he views Mercurio as her assistant. He has no complaints if Mercurio turns to merchant adventuring, however.

This also feels like the most appropriate place to mention this: Mercurio has a major Lecherous flaw, so he's probably tried to seduce any young covenfolk women who aren't otherwise devoted to a relationship. The young faerie-blooded man is charming and lusty, and spends a lot of time around beautiful women in the covenant.

Nicola has an aging crisis in 1138, requires a CrCo ritual of 20+ or con roll of 3+ to survive.

the excellent cloak made in 1138 has a craft quality of 34, but hits the limit of granting +4 to all associated uses.

So far the only votes I've seen on Mercurio's work-status is Gloriana saying 'NO MY PET' and Oliverius not caring. Anyone else weighing in?

Awesome! Good job, the Weavers!

Gloriana is willing to cast the Ritual, if the Council approves. She will spend 1 Long term fatigue to substitute 1 Co pawn, so the cost to the Praesidium will be 1 pawn. She is most intent on gaining the good will of the coven folk.

Andros and Danaë approve of helping the cook. at least this once.

Danaë doesn't care to vote, but she does go out of her way to try and fill Mercurio's head with heady tales of adventure.

Andros feels that the lad is becoming a handful; there are just too many randy people around, and perhaps some more responsibility might be good for him. Get a job, settle down, have a family, that sort of thing. Really, a bad influence on his Apprentice, this lack of decorum.

Aurthor would like to see the son continue his hermetic legacy in some way and assisting a sorceress in her research seems a viable option. He expresses his thoughts but abstains from voting, he believes it is a personal matter on which Mercurio has to decide for himself.

Arduino abstains from voting also, he is not interested in the matter.

Aurthor informs the council that the list of lab texts to be ordered to House Mercere is finally ready and that he intends to send the order next year.

Given its length (a total of 6000 levels of spells!) I preferred to create a wiki page for the review and any changes proposed by other magi: http://praesidiumorae.wikidot.com/wiki:order-of-lab-texts.

Twelve spells come from Covenants, A&A and TME; all the others spells from the core book.

Which spells are from TME? By nature of the book they may not be available (given that Mythic Europe is not, at this point, transformed...)

Only Portage of the Eagles ReTe 45 page 109. Do I have to replace it?

Yes, that spell is not in publication at this point.

If such a thing can be managed, Gloriana would like to squeeze in a Watching Ward ReVi 50. Good job on the massive spell selection!

Deleted

  • Portage of the Eagles [ReTe 45]
  • Room of Stale Air [PeAu 15]

Added

  • Watching Ward [ReVi 50]
  • Chamber of Summer Breezes [CrAu 10]

Done!

siveroak considering the order is going to be sent in spring 1139, how much time before the lab texts will be ready (and I can add them to library wiki page)?
