Tactically speaking there could be numerous covenants in the Sultanate of Rum which have simply lost contact with the rest of the order due to a disruption in communications and trying to keep their heads down to avoid drawing attention. If the order of Seuleman has Djinn watching for magical communication and the redcaps have been cut off, they may simply just be hiding away.

I make heavy use of Blood & Sand along with The Cradle and the Crescent for our Theban saga, since they have very close ties to the Levant and the events going on further east (in pure Byzantine tradition).

So many many thanks for creating that book, which IMHO is invaluable.
