I guess I should clarify this. The "Opera Propria" section is for projects that are larger than just one webpage. Thus it holds multi-page projects like Camera Mysteriorum, Pax Hermetica, and Gifts from the Moon. Other articles are in the authors' sancta. That said, I also link special projects to the sancta of their authors where appropriate.
About the whole WoD connection, there would naturally be comparisons drawn. And yet, I notice a lack of Paradox, MiBs, and the other things that made Mage a Bad Game. Also, Ars Magica has delightfully easy to use, yet much more precise, magic rules when compared with Mage.
Hmmm... What if we tacked on another 20 years or so, and really let the Verditius come to the fore? MagePunk, anyone? House Arasaka? I kinda like the ring of that one.
"Stephon the Sulfurus/Umbrus of Flambeau," in the Camera Mysteriorum; a possessed Flambeau magus, 117 years old and a specialist in PeVi, by John Padavic
"Hidden Power Structures within the Order of Hermes," in Galfraidus' Sanctum; a consideration of the power structures found within Houses Bonisagus, Guernicus, Mercere and Tremere, by Angus Macdonald
I've also added short character descriptions to the introductory page of the Camera Mysteriorum, to make them easier to use.
Still in the works (which means that they'll be posted when I have time!), we have the following:
"The Covenant of St Simprin's," a winter covenant by John Padavic
"Some Notes on Social Structures within the Order of Hermes," a consideration of how the Order organises itself socially, by Angus Macdonald
And more...
As always, many thanks to our contributors. Remember, people, you are the ones who drive the site; if you want it to flourish, contribute! Join us; don't be afraid...
Last night I compiled a list of all of the shape and material bonuses published to date for fifth edition. I sent it by Atlas to see ifthey wanted to put it on their Ars 5 site but in the likely case that they pass, I'll throw it your way (unless they don't want it up at all for some reason).

Hrm, after reading the "hermetic History" I am disapointed: it is only an alternate WoD-Setting.
Nothing about the ultimate power of the divine, nothing about the existing facts of the medivial paradigma (so techbnology could have a hard time). nothing about the revised House Tremere and so on.

Hrm hrm. Of course, if you delve back deep enough into the Lion Rampant/White Wolf origins of Ars Magica and Vampire there was quite a close connection. Then of course, Werewolf, Mage and all the rest came along and the "World of Darkness" got fleshed out and evolved into the ghastly mess that we all know and love (sic). WotC and then Atlas thankfully cut any remaining connections - specifically the Realm of Reason and then the Tremere vampires - and I think that if I were to do any sort of modern day ArM update I'd pretty much do the same thing.
Well... I might just have a few covenants and older magi that I could take a look over and send your way. I'm in Okinawa just now so it'll have to wait until I get back to my computer. 8) If not I'll knock some brain cells together and see what I can come up with...
SHR rolled over and opened one eye. Its head was pounding from the New Year party. It should never have accepted that drink that the Atlas Forums had offered it, but after several of Durenmar's whiskies it had been hard to resist. SHR rolled its eye over to the calendar and groaned. Almost three months had passed; it was 2007, and St Patrick's Day! Just then the 'phone rang, sounding to SHR's delicate head like the jangling of a thousand angry church bells; no doubt the Atlas Forums, Durenmar, the Wiki Grimoire and the rest wanted to go out and get hammered again. SHR groaned and buried its head under the pillow...
Yes, SHR is not dead. I've just posted the following:
"Mundane Beasts of Burden," by Jarkman
"Burning Arrows/Flechas Igneas" and "Feather Mail/Cota de Plumas" by Gabriel Pallares Ramon
In the works: more magic items, the promised revised rules for sahirs, and more...
Another update at SHR today. I just added the following:
In Camera Mysteriorum:
Magic Items: "Hermetic Sword Trap/Atrapa Espadas Hermetico" and "Raven Watchtower/El Sitial del Cuervo," by Gabriel Pallares Ramon
Our first vis source: "A Sardonic Gift," by our newest contributor, Rainer Wagner
In Calatin's Sanctum:
"Fifth Edition Sahirs", by some other guy...
Sharped-eyed readers will notice some of the images originally found in articles for ArM4 re-appearing in articles for ArM5 (such as in "Salih al-Kamil" and "Fifth Edition Sahirs"). I'm re-using images in cases where they are particularly appropriate and in the process seeking to ensure that our artists, who have kindly allowed us to use their work for free, continue to get a decent amount of exposure.
As always, comments, questions, and contributions welcomed!
It's amazing how much more time one has to update web pages once classes are over! I've just posted a new special project at SHR: Terrae-Magi, by Jarkman. This project presents a series of articles exploring the topic of magi who specialise in Terram magic, especially those found within House Guernicus. It includes a Terram-based Mystery Cult, two small related lineages of House Guernicus magi that specialise in their Founder's original area of magical expertise, and some unusual Terram spells.
We welcome contributions from anyone who is writing (or drawing - we also accept art), and we're open to articles or ideas that deviate slightly or even considerably from the canon. As an example, my recent article on sahirs deviates in some aspects from the canonical position regarding True Names, and we already have one alternate (modern) setting, with more on the way...
When we receive an article it is normally run past a submissions editor, who checks it for rules and background adherence (or appropriate explanations if deviating from the canonical game position), clarity and language. Any required changes are solicited from the author.
After that it is copy-edited by me as I code it into HTML. I then have the author confirm that they are happy with the final version before it is posted.
For more details on submitting articles for the site, please see:
Following the recent discussion regarding finding sagas, I have now added the month and year that information was added to each entry in the Liber Amicorum, and this will be my standard practice in the future. I have also inserted links to the Sagalocator forum on both our front page and the Liber Amicorum page.
I have also made some minor changes to my "Fifth Edition Sahirs" article to reflect the information on Hermetic sahirs published in RoP: S, so that my article and the rules in the book mesh smoothly.
