«Oh, I am sure he is fine, and will arrive in due course. I just thought, maybe, that you would welcome some stories from different parts of the country. If you don't, I apologise, I do not want to impose. Not at all. I am just not so used to the regular and fixed itineraries that O'Sullivan probably keeps. Travelling on a whim gives me a wider range of stories and news, which is what I like.» He pauses to gauge the reaction.
"Well," the tavern keeper considers "I can let you play for a room for the night, and whatever tips you might receive, if that deal would be agreeable to you."
Down the stairs you come to a large room that might have been a laboratory at some point in the past, though it has no aura. Now there is a bed a small table, and a lamp, which the blacksmith lights. "So now, how about you tell me how exactly you got into trouble with the high and mighty faerie lords of the coast and what sort of trouble you might be in."
«That's very satisfactory.» Éogan smiles, and starts preparing his gig. Is the tavern already filling up, or is he a little early for the prime time?
As soon as there is someone, he will start the first recital, in the hope that more will come, and as soon as there is enough for a lively exchange, he tries his enchanting poem about the rewards of sharing stories. How everybody can feel rewarded by spilling a few secrets in good company.

OOC. Of course, this takes the better part of the evening, so Hugh may well join long before we see the results.
"Well, I came to Ireland to search out the recipe for Mimir's mead... I saw mention of it in a book about the old war with the rune wizards, so I thought I might find it here. I heard that Vigil might be a good place to start looking, so I headed up there. Then... Well, at dinner, I made mention of a book on Ignem, called the Fires of Rebirth, hoping to see if there would be any allies. But apparently they all consider themselves Diedne-hunters, and everyone there declared Wizard's War on me, because they recognized the phrase as ours."
"I have to say it worries me that they recognize the phrase, and we will need to be certain that Fionna is all right before we do much with ye, on account as if she were discovered and the phrase extracted from her we might here much the same story from a hunter. When does this wizard war start, did they say? In any case we won't be able to do much before O'Sullivan comes around."
"Starting at the second rising of a full moon. That was [x] days ago. Fionna seemed free when she told me to come here, should we be worried? I wouldn't want her to come to harm either.
I don't think I was there long enough to leave behind any Connections. There was a bard, Éogan, who joined me, he is interested in the mead, too, but I'm not sure if he's to be trusted or not. I haven't told him anything important, though he knows I entered the smithy."
" I think you misunderstood. 2 nights ago was the first rising of a full moon, here we only count the true full moon, not the nights either side. So in a month, or just short of a month, when the full moon rises again, is when the wizard war begins"
Hugh nods. "So in a month, and... forever after? But are they likely to pursue me if I leave Hibernia? Or just use that as a threat to keep me out?"
(He just meant x nights ago was when they said it, since I don't know the exact travel time)
"They probably mean to pursue you, but if they do pursue you outside of Hibernia, that could be a wrinkle in their plans. I could help you leave now if that is your plan."
"I would like to try to find what I came for. I don't really want to leave but it seems I have little choice. My biggest concern, is if I get exposed to the rest of the Order, and marched. I would consider fighting them, if there were a way to make it one-on-one, with time to rest in between. Oh, and if you don't mind me asking, who is O'Sullivan?"
"O'sullivan is a bard, who is enrolled in our cause. His memory is trained in the old ways, so nothing needs to be written down."
"Will he be here soon? Should I wait for him before I decide what to do next?"
"He should be here in a couple of weeks, if he sticks to his usual route."
"How quickly can you get me off the island?"
He considers this " I suppose it depends on whether you care if they know you are leaving. I expect they are keeping an eye on you somehow, though I hear they are forbidden to use magic to do so. They may well have asked someone to follow you though, or track you. You will need to head back east to leave, and probably south. I can get you a horse within a day, if you can ride, and you should be able to make Dublin within a weeks travel. If you have means to take to the air, that will go faster, of course. I'd suggest you get some rest, I'll arrange for a horse if you can ride, and you leave tonight, while the moon is still mostly full. Shake whatever pursuit there might be, you know the laws of mages better than I, what they might be able to do or not do outside of Ireland. Can ye ride?"
Hugh shakes his head. "I'm not really much of a rider. I usually travel in animal form. But I can make my way to Dublin that way, and make as good or better time as a horse, if you can provide me a contact there. Do you know of any faerie auras or gateways to the faerie realm nearby?"
"Most faeries hereabout are mobile, they may set up an aura for a season or two, but then move on to stir up more trouble. The Slíghe Mhidlúachra is the closest stable aura, and for that you can head east, to Doire." He scratches his head "I heard of a couple of young uns getting in some kind of trouble that sounds like faerie a couple of months ago, out by the faerie well, about a day's travel north and west, which is the opposite of the direction you are headed, but closer than Doire. But are you sure you want to go looking fo faerie if you have raised the ire of the Faerie Lords of the coast?"
"Does Vigil have dominion over the faeries? If they can turn them against me then I probably shouldn't go."
"I couldn't say exactly how those powers and connections flow, but I know they are close."
"Well... Do those kids need help? Or is that over?"
