Neither player indicated any long term plans to contain Sinmore. She was physically restrained one month only, agreed to keep her secret, and then it was dropped.
If you don't declare any long-term arrangements, your characters don't have any long-term arrangements.
Sophronia may claim credit for the fact that the beast has not attacked any covenfolk, as she may have been running damage control in lieu of Sinmore submitting to physical restraint (which would require more magic than the two magae have between them).
My comment isn't about long term arrangements, that's fair. It's about news of the covenant. I expressed an interest early on. I didn't think I'd have to continue to express my interest in this matter beyond that. No matter, I understand how the saga runs better now, and we'll move forward.
This statement suggests that Sophronia is complicit in Sinmore's harvesting of sheep and trying to keep things quiet, which is absolutely not something that she would do. The moment Sophronia would've heard about another sheep death, she would've confronted Sinmore and threatened to call a council meeting and expose her, unless she kept her appetites in check.
She is not necessarily complicit-- the covenfolk who speak of it amongst themselves do not share a language with Sophronia. Wallis shares a language with her but he has had enough other things to complain about.
The first sheep death Sophronia would have heard about it after getting Sinmore to make a promise she can't keep, would have been when Iapetus' wyrm showed up. A dragon's gotta eat.
Attravere will acquire some chickens as per Stefan's recommendation if he must do so personally, though a better deal would probably be had by a mundane member of the covenant attempting this. He'll try to recruit someone into doing so.
During the day that the predator is expected Attravere will set up a ward of normal beasts (ReAn 5) around a few of the chickens where the sheep were previously kept.
He'll try to get a couple hours of sleep/rest during the day to be able to stay up for the night.
When he goes to remind Cygna about an hour before evening he'll see about whether Iapetus, Sinmore or Sophronia might have changed their minds and be joining them that night for the watch.
As a reminder, Attravere, Rhodri et al. did see Sinmore turn into a beast and run off after the encounter with the bandits and the Faux-Leona. The manacles (which look much the worse for wear, given bite marks in the metal) might make it all click into place.
Not to mention the claw marks on the windowsill. And the smell of damp fur.
In preparation for keeping watch, Cygna will cast a couple of spells upon herself after sunset. The first is Form of the Melancholic Heartbeast, which adds +1 Sta and +3 to all rolls to communicate across a language barrier (as well as giving her the Creative Personality Trait at +3); this should come in handy when she tries to communicate with the beast, possibly using her Animal Ken ability. The second is a Spontaneous ReMe spell to keep her awake all night ([color=red]"I haven't had to use that one since I was an apprentice. Don't ask.")
((Base 4 ("Control a target's mental state (for example, awake, asleep, or confused.") It's the base for Snap of Awakening, and I'm thinking that this would apply here. R: Personal, D: Sun (+2), T: Individual, for a final target level of 10. Her CT is Int 4 + Re 5 + Me 18 + Aura 5 = 32 + die roll, so at least a 16.))
[color=red]"♪♫ Oh, magic, keep my eyes open wide/That we may catch the monster this eventide. ♫♪" ((God, that sucks))
"Eh. Alright, if you do find the time to join us we'll be in that area." Attravere waves to Sinmore and avoids asking her whatever awkward rituals her purported 'fire giant' heritage requires of her that involve chains and manacles.
He'll go meet up with Cygna and head to the locale. Once there he'll mention to her this odd suspicion that Sinmore might have something to do with the issue - he'll recount the brief transformation that she underwent that one time in the woods.
[color=red]"Wait," Cygna says as she looks at the two. [color=red]"You mean Sinmore is the were...whatever? And you've known about this for however long? And the steps that you've taken to control her so far haven't worked?" Cygna sighs. [color=red]"Okay, what have we tried so far, so we don't waste our time doing something we know doesn't work?"
She looks over at the circle with the chickens. [color=red]"Obviously, whatever spells we cast on it...on her are going to have to penetrate her Parma to be effective," she mutters. [color=red]"She does have Parma in her were-form, right? And how...'in control' is she when she's transformed?"
"Well, I didn't know. I'm not really studied on... were-things. The time I saw any kind of transformation was during the day... I figured it was some crazy muto effect!" (Thread/Post for the sort of wackiness that Attravere described just prior.)
"This is really something that should have been mentioned to us all at council." Attravere sighs. "Maybe we can keep her contained somehow for tonight until we can figure out a real solution? I don't know much about were-creatures-things. DOES she have parma? We've still got an hour before sunset. Let's go talk with her?"
On the way, "A lot of things should be brought up at council, but aren't, wouldn't you say? In any event, if we ask her to not raise her Parma, we may be able to contain her. In order to discover who it was I needed a spell of Intellego Animal, with a Corpus requisite."
"Most certainly. It seems that we've got enough to work out right now, however." Attravere nods.
"So, she is something affected by a combination of Animal and Corpus, that is useful. Good, good. I'm thinking maybe try to ward her within a circle? Would that work?"
"Well, that was the spontaneous effect I worked. I failed discovering an animal when I had an Arcane Connection, the animal with the wound, I only determined who it was once I added a Corpus requisite. It's a reasonable supposition that a ward against both would be necessary. We should also acquire some of her hair to boost penetration."
The Intellego Animal spell didn't work because Sinmore was not Animal at the time of the casting. IIRC, she had initially cast without a Corpus requisite because she hadn't known it was a werebeast.
