1222.2d This is the Land of Giants

"Onwards."

The Blacksmith leads the three towards a door that seems to materialize as they grow closer. "This door will only open from the inside. I know if the person on the other side of it wishes me ill. I wish you luck, but know that I will not follow you or even come to assist you. I have no desire to leave this place, and I have no ability to communicate beyond it except by the visitors who come through from time to time."

The door opens and a the landscape is hilly, but not mountainous. There is a road to follow it doesn't seem to have any paths or branches and goes straight.

[color=blue]"Do you want to be in front or in back?" Fiona asks, desperately fighting the urge to sing We're Off To See The Wizard.

[color=blue]"This feels somewhat odd."

When Fiona remarks on how odd it is everyone notes that the sky is grey, as if clouds filled it, but when looking at the sky more closely the color is completely uniform.

"Depends on how we're proceeding. Are we going to operate under the charade that I'm your prisoner? If so, I should be between you or somehow bound and being led and trailing the two of you."

[color=blue]"That would probably be best" Fiona says as she looks for something to faux-bind, not only Marcus but the shield grogs as well.

[color=blue]"But actually, what I meant was whether Laetitia wanted to walk at the front of the group or the back, or have both of us behind and the 'prisoners' in front where we can keep an eye on you.

"And I'm not used to being short. This is going to take some getting used to," Fiona says with a chuckle.

((I'm a bit confused, Fiona should be a quite a bit bigger than she was before, she was size 2 before and is now size 4, no?))

Right, but now Laetitia is taller than she is. Fiona is the short one now

Laetitia is Size +5, and Fiona is Size +4. Laetitia got the benefit of Fiona's Minor Magical Focus in Transformation of Others, while Fiona not only didn't get the Focus bonus, but had to waste a Magnitude because she was already Size +2 to begin with.

And since Laetitia's "petite, with a generous figure" and Fiona is normally on the small end of Size +2 (barely bigger than Size +1, if the default height for Large is to be believed), I put them on the low end of their respective Sizes. Laetitia should be about 18, 19 feet tall and Fiona about 14-15 feet.

"Don't you think the shield grogs should be big, too?" Marcus asks innocently. "If it's as The Blacksmith suggested, that we will be in conflict, I can't help but think that tiny guards are going to be ineffective against beings that are three and four times their size." Marcus explains, "And if they're ineffective, then don't you two become in effective as magi? I don't know, I don't know how your magic works. For me, I'd like to have a shield grog that is 3 or 5 times as big as I am." Just sayin'

((I assume it's too late to turn around and ask the Blacksmith to garb the shield grogs if we make them bigger?))

Fiona shrugs and looks at the two(?) shield grogs. [color=blue]"Well, if you don't mind walking around naked for however long it takes us to get to where we're going..."

Laetitia's shield grog: ((assuming a 10 Aura, and going for the same thing she was for Laetitia – Level 30, or Size +5)) Sta 3 + Mu 16 + Co 14 + Co 14 (Minor MF) + Aura 10 + die roll of 3 = 60 ÷ 2 = 30.

Fiona's shield grog: Sta 3 + Mu 16 + Co 14 + Co 14 (Minor MF) + Aura 10 +die roll of 3 = 60 ÷ 2 = 30.

So, they both should be Size +5 and naked, unless we were able to go knock on the Blacksmith's door and he was able and willing to clothe the shield grogs for us.

I'm assuming that we're still keeping Marcus normal size, and he's our 'prisoner'?

And that we're adhering to the Indiana Jones School of Adventure Preparedness?

((It isn't. From what I can see everyone's looking at the road trying to figure out what to do when Marcus bonks you on the head.))

((Just checking...I wanted to make sure we didn't turn around and see nothing but open road behind us.

So, we've got Laetitia, Thing 1 and Thing 2 at Size +5, Fiona at Size +4, and Marcus at Size 0 with legs that work, I believe.))

((And Thing 3 (that's just wrong). Marcus intended to bring one along, and had even asked.))

Okay, for Marcus's shield grog: Sta 3 + Mu 16 + Co 14 + Co 14 (Minor MF) + Aura 10 +die roll of 2 = 59 ÷ 2 = 29½, which rounds to 30, right?

If not...um....whoops? Oh, and she is waiting two minutes between, just to not wear herself out.

Yes, it rounds to 30 (round to the even numbers, last I checked 29 wasn't even  ).

The Blacksmith embiggens all the clothing, weapons and armor for the shield grogs. Marcus is now the only little guy. (He's just a little guy!).

After everyone is ready, they take off down the road, it seems to go very straight, and there are no branches, the hills become more forbidding on either side, but eventually fall away and the party reaches the edge of a valley, looking down they can see a lush alpine valley, sitting nearly in the center of the valley in a clearing of trees is what appears to be a log cabin, except for its gargantuan size. It appears occupied as there is smoke coming from the chimney.

Without warning it begins to rain.

[color=blue]"What do you think?" Fiona says to Laetitia. [color=blue]"Tough it out, or see if we can get shelter there?"

"Let's give it a wide berth," Laetitia replies.

Following the road is almost necessary, as the forest is quite thing. Given the new size of everyone sneaking through forest is difficult. You'll have to go past it, but if the Blacksmith was correct your size should allow you to pass unmolested.

Well, if the woods are too thick to skirt around, then just remember: it's all in the attitude. If you act like you belong, people will think you belong. So, we're just going to walk on past the cabin like we have a purpose and a destination, and don't give the cabin more than a cursory glance.

Yep. Progress!
