How about some Guile rolls to pull it off.
Good time to select your red shirts, too, if those haven't been identified, and do rolls for them.
((WTF, my Guile isn't on my character sheet. And I remember my specialty, lying to authorities, so I know it was there for a good long while. Sigh, I must have eaten it when I alphabetized my Abilities
))
4+3Com=7.
Let's call my redshirt... Wesley.
I think it reasonable Wesley would have some amount of Guile, having to pretend all the time that he's not in love with his Captain.
Pulling Crusher characteristics out of my ass...
Int +1 (book smart) Per -2 (...but pretty dumb regardless) Str +2 (he can lift things) Sta +2 (and has staying power) Pre 0 (not as cute as he thinks he is) Com -2 (always whinging about how the man you love has a thing for your mom) Dex [strike]+2[/strike]+3 (he's good with his hands) Qik +2 (but he finishes too quickly)
So his guile check is 6+3Guile-2Com=7.
I think he'll have Warrior (everyone in Starfleet goes through hand-to-hand combat), Well-Travelled (he's been around the galaxy), and let's give him Great Dexterity, because Wil Wheaton has ladyhands.
And for Flaws... [strike]Starfleet[/strike]Covenant Upbringing, Lost Love (the captain of the [strike]Enterprise[/strike]turb loves his mother), and Incomprehensible (whine whine whine... I don't even understand what you're whining about.)
Someone with MC can figure out how old he is if they want.

((So is she all up to date through summer of 1222? Could some rejiggering be done? I'm not one to penalize someone for forgetting a pretty important ability central to the character concept, and Guile, IMO is central to Laetitia, at least so far as not letting people know what she's up to.))
I guess Ivor's laid up or something, so I guess let's take Deykin (who has French 3 to go along with Fiona's French 2).
Fiona's Guile: Com 2 + Guile 1 + die roll of 1 (followed by die roll of2) for a dice total of 4) = 7.
Deykin's Guile: Com 0 + Guile 0 + die roll of 3 = 3.
((I didn't forget it, I think I deleted it when I moved my Abilities into alphabetical order.))
((Vmware/Parallels & MetaCreator, just sayin')
((Are we ready to proceed on this, has Laetitia been fixed? Let me know if we're ready, or if it was unclear that I was waiting for the Guile issue to be fixed and it doesn't matter for now, we'll work on it later.))
The grogs have lower stealth checks than she does even without her skill in it, so it doesn't matter at the moment.
I'm pretty sure it was a 3, with a specialty in lying to authorities.
((I'll presume you meant guile not stealth, since you're acting like you belong.))
The party passes the house without incident, the smell of a warm fire and roasted meat is hanging around the house. Everyone looks at Marcus who shakes his head in answer to the silent question. A bit up the road everyone comes upon a paddock with giant sized sheep. There appears to be a giant sized shepherd. He spies the party and yells out something in a language that is unfamiliar to everyone, it's not even like a language commonly heard, certainly not derived from Latin. Laetitia and Fiona think it might be a branch of a celtic tongue, unlike one they've heard before.
The shepherd appears to be dressed in fur skins, rather than clothing and armor similar to what is worn by the party.
Glaukopis, what did it say? Laetitia asks mentally.
Unless it sounds like a warning or a threat, keep on going?
Forgot about Glaukopis, and you were intending to bring him.
Mentally: "It was something to the effect that he'd already he payed his taxes, and he wasn't going to give the king anymore sheep, even if he comes and takes it. I don't think he's an immediate threat if we keep moving."
((Did Paul want to come, or did he prefer to stay behind? I seem to remember wanting him to come if he was willing, but not forcing or demanding.))
((Yes, he could come along, too. Marcus's familiar was too busy eating tasty sheep, and look what he's missing out on!
))
Laetitia nods and grunts at the genuinegiant, and motions for the party to move on.
((Wait, who is Paul?))
((Fiona's Familiar, a tortoiseshell cat. talk your ear off if you let him...and drink you under the table.))
((Did you name him for the alien in the Simon Pegg movie?))
((Actually, JL named him for Paul Lynde, I believe.))
The party moves on in the rain, the road gets muddy in several places, and looks as if it isn't well maintained, but it is giant sized. Some of the larger puddles look as if they could swallow Marcus whole. After a couple of hours, the rain doesn't diminish, and while not cold does have a chilling effect, it also seems to be getting darker.
Laetitia makes a point to speak softly since being overheard speaking in Latin would be problematic.
"Glaukopis and I can see fine in the dark, but doing so might draw suspicion if we're observed," she says. "Perhaps we should make camp for the night?"
