1222.etc 100 Pieces of Mons Electi

((What is he doing? Playing chess with the gnomes? If so, she will watch and try to figure out this game that she'd never heard of before she moved here.))

Pretty much watching them. He points and grunts and watches the piece move into position, then the gnomes scurry around moving their piece into position.

She will sit, watch, observing silently until he's ready to talk. She's a little concerned (okay, maybe it's just me) that we have, basically, a complete stranger down in our catacombs. As near as I can tell, all she knows is his name and that he has something to do with Laetitia, and the name is only from Elena saying that Moebius was down here, this guy is down here, therefore this guy is Moebius. And I don't know that she knows anything about what happened over with the vampire nest, seeing as how everything almost literally blew up on us after that.

After a while she notices that he appears to be moving the chess pieces with magic, despite no words or gestures.
"Some of your people are idiots."

[color=blue]"I know. Short of bashing their heads in, I'm not sure how to make them any less idiotic. So this is 'chess,' eh?"

"Yes." He goes on to explain the rules how the pieces move. "Guernicus have been playing chess for a long time. Some of them aren't any good. They think they checked the king, but all they did was take a piece off the board."

Alexei will thank Maris and retrieve the connection. "I'm not sure how long I should wait before going, I insulted her gravely, and whatever punishment she might have waiting for me, I surely deserve. I sent a letter, telling her I would come, but I have not received a response. I think it only fair that she have time to prepare to hear me grovel with an appropriate venue."

((It's Tria. :stuck_out_tongue:))

Fiona pays rapt attention to the stranger's rudimentary chess lesson, and agrees with his assessment of the situation.

[color=blue]"So, what brings you down to our caverns? I'm assuming it isn't just our magnificent chess board."

Isen perfectly understand Alexei's fears, and is quite stumped by the women's reaction. He recalls Laetitia speaking of a compulsion on her, which could happen to anyone!
To him, it thus stands to reason to make sure it is no longer active, if it is, to destroy it. But in the meantime, what Alexei proposed is basic security measures. This could happen to anyone, himself included, and is in no way a judgment upon laetitia's character. So how could they consider it to be such an insult?
Truly, between Alexei and himself being fooled by lucius and both Laetitia and Fiona's tantrum, if this is the biggest opposition the Guernici face, they might as well as won.

Of course, he recognises the futility of trying to convey this to fiona, and Laetitia is long gone. So he'll just :unamused: Women...

"I'm of the Terrae Cult, and these elementals of earth are fascinating to me. At my age I pursue my own interests, the House long ago stopped paying attention to me and consider me a doddering old fool."

Moebius requests sanctuary at Mons Electi.

In an unusual move Laetitia is granted Apollodorus's seat at Valnastium, despite her fae heritage.

Everyone particpating here gets 4 xp.

Fiona: 2 xp Order of Hermes Lore, 2 xp in Spell Mastery: Curse of Circe (which doubles to 4).

Does that include Theraphosa?

I believe Ulrich had a (somewhat disturbing) plot in this thread. He gets the 4 xp, too, right?

if so, he's going to put them all into Charm (for spending all that time macking on Theraphosa).

Yes to both.

Yep. And in return, Theraphosa will spend the eeps on Teaching.

Helmut has been on a mission to find the Redcap Renault, when the young man finally finds him he invites him to attend his master Alexei Von Kroitsau at his training hall to discuss something of great importance.

((This would take plus in the beginning of 1227 I believe, about a year before we begin again))

Alexei is working on some training dummies, attended by the crippled trainer Gunnar who sits in a chair.

"Good m'lord! Now thrust, don't over extend, be ready to parry! You may have magic, but rely on steel!" Gunnar says as Alexei lays into the dummies with his spear, moving from one to the next with speed and skill.

Before this goes wherever it's going...
@jebrick: When does Renaud enter the saga? How old is he when he enters the saga? And did you want him the character go to to Confluensis?
@anyone else: who's asking him to go there, and how are they getting in touch with him, and how are they going to convince him? It's fine for him to be brought into play, I just want something a bit more than, he shows up at Mons Electi one day.
