If I taught him, it would be after a bit more Teaching, and 24 per season.
What about apprentice? Looking in any area where they speak Low German so probably rhine, using the area lore rules? I will have method for visually detecting the gift.

use per+area lore, target of 9 or better per season.
Int for found apprentice/supernatural abilities?
Also what is the technique for En-lil?
Sorry I'm bombarding with questions.
An-Enlilda is not en-Lil. The first is an advisor to Enki, sometimes called Ea, while the second is the head of the Sumerian pantheon.
per+area lore is to find a Gifted individual appropriate to become an apprentice, given your method of search.
Technique for An-Enlilda would be Intelligo
An-Enlilda, right. Don't know why I started typing En-Lil.
Wasn't sure if you wanted me to stop when I found apprentice, but I did. (Rolls on Discord.)
Both to see if there's a challenge to recruiting him, and for how hard it is to open his arts, also re his learning/assisting.
With that you locate a 13 year old child with both strong faerie blood (faerie god) and cthonic magic as supernatural virtues. You expect other magi have passed this potential apprentice by, he has an Int of 1.
What's he like otherwise? Kriegeist can just barely open that.
Before we get too far into this- what is the purpose of this apprentice?
Just to be a normal apprentice. I actually miscalculated my lab total, not quite as high as I thought, but depending on suitability to be a Tytalus, may try anyway.
I'm not going a lot further with advancement, he will probably still be apprentice at game start.
He is a son of Hodr, born blind and with a faerie affinity for cold and winter, and blatantly Gifted, he is not well accepted in his community and seems likely to become a beggar if left to himself- currently he survives due to the support of his mother.
From the greatest adversity comes the strongest of magi.
"Boy, do you want to become a wizard? To have unlimited power and live forever? It will be a road paved in pain and struggle, you will want to give up, you will wish for death, but if you perservere, you will achieve whatever you wish to."
He laughs "Paved in pain and struggle and wishing for death is pretty much a Tuesday. Sure, I will try this road you offer."
On the way back, they will procure an ordinary bird. Raven would be first choice, but if that's too hard to find then whatever might be available in a big city livestock market.
Kriegeist is going to devote an inordinate amount of time to this apprentice for the first couple of years, for a few reasons.
Can an apprentice use their parens' lab even if it would normally be too refined for them, if the parens assists?
Yes. I am curious why you are getting a raven however- keep in mind that at this point you have no idea of the existence of Mingus the Mad or his covenant, and are in a level 3 aura.
The boy is going to bind it as familiar (with our help) and enchant the bond with shared senses.
Initially, will be teaching him theory and a couple of arts while he's blind, is there a penalty?
Raven just because it seems like an appropriate choice of bird.
okay, that makes sense. Having it study magic theory will be interesting...
Sorry, edited while you were responding, re the teacing penalty if thrre is one.
There is an issue though- a familiar need not have might, but it does need to be magical- some random bird will not suffice.
Ravens have second sight I think? Does that count?
Doves have Premonitions, which is equally appropriate and maybe buyable at market...
Edit: crows, not ravens, have second sight. Getting this from the bestiary in HHMC
