Also folk witches are pretty ubiquitous, as are nightwalkers.
Then Farah always was a folk witch.
Let her be unGifted with Cursing and Shapeshifting Abilities, so she still would need a help with her LR.
Folk witches can create their own longevity rituals, and hermetic magi cannot assist in the process.
They can if they can generate Healing Lab Total. And if this isn't a big deal for a Gifted folk witch, not every unGifted can do that as not every unGifted has required Virtue called "Healing".
And so i suggest that Farah does not have this Virtue and therefore can't generate Healing Lab Total => no LR on her own.
That works, but there should be a reason she doesn't have that ability which would be very important to folk witches for a number of reasons, including the fact they cannot make longevity potions for others (plus healing is pretty much the core focus of most folk witches). Keeping in mind that they gain their virtues by initiation so it isn't a matter of luck and how she was born....
She might've put her focus into other areas and/or has ability of relatively (to 51 lab total that Wifait can manage) low-level.
I mean, even with some decent (15-20) lab total on her own, she still could be subjected to the aging as she's 36 (gives +4) and living in a city (gives +2).
Instead of cursing and shapeshifting lets go with animal healing and shapeshifting. Her tradition has a longevity ritual which requires them to remain in animal form (at least 3/4 of the time) in order to function, and yours allowed her to stay human.
Regarding his son, magical blood tends to be non hereditary despite its name based on the description, though he would carry a Mythic Blood, though without the Gift this will be a recessive trait.
Now you describe Farah as your wife, but in addition to the Gift you have lecherous as a personality trait, which suggests a lot of infidelity, and you are constantly adventuring which, despite your comments in your progression, would mean you are almost never around, and neither of them would have enough of a relationship with you to overcome the Gift. Also it is quite likely that you would have other children by other women- so why is this relationship so special in Wifait's mind?
That'll do better, yes.
Then she would have Virtue "Unnaffected by the Gift". It also would make their relationship actually unique for Wifait.
It still doesn't deal with the constant adventuring and his lecherous nature...
Frankly, i doubt that this affection is truly mutual, but on the one hand Wifait is useful enough to keep him around, on the other hand Wifait is often enough absent to tolerate him while he is around, and on the third hand Wifait is seemingly consider their relationships to be generally healthy and he could be really annoying (and dangerous) if he is rejected, so, overall, there's not so much of a incentive for her to put a stop to it.
So, for her it's tolerable and for Wifait it's the most functional family he ever was a part of.
And then you have the son- would he acknowledge his bastards as well, or just his "legitimate" son?
Also back to the original point- the side effect- you didn't post any of the rolls regarding experimentation effects, so I didn't know if you rolled on the sub table or not, and I have to assume that the die roll you posted was not for the experimental table...
... I did find it on discord, I'm going to go with her skin always feels cold to the touch, though it does not affect her health or comfort. People who do not know this about her may worry however.
I will post all future rolls there.
He consider them to be not exactly bastards, but clearly secondary as he is not attached to them as much - he has absolutely no part in raising them, he lacks emotional connection with them (unlike his "main" son, who he considered for a time to be a future apprentice and this association remained).
I'm thinking about Wifait's Talisman and have a few questions:
- Does Wifait (as a dragon-like human) fall under the bonus of Emerald (+7 Snakes and Dragon kind) or Cinnabar (Dragons +5)?
- Does Talisman made of skin of poisonous reptile fall under the effects of Focus "Poisonous Reptiles"?
- Can Wifait use Rego craft magic (Covenants, p.49) to create his talisman? What Ease Factor would such activity has?
- Is Emerald considered to be semi-precious, precious or priceless gem?
Talisman itself i want to compile is as follows:
[Breastplate (Protect Wearer +7) of Snakeskin (Turn into snake +7)] with
[Snake tongue(Deception +3, Lying +6) made of Topaz (Courage +4, Leadership +4, Pride +4, Strength +4, Controlling wild beasts +5)],
[tiny Sword (Block single attack +3, Harm human and animal bodies +4) made of Gold (Wealth and Mercantile +4, Health +2, Induce greed +4, Nobility +4, Peace +4),
Cinnabar (Languages +4, Dragons +5) and
[Collar (Control wearer +6) made of Linded (Good fortune +1)].
Traditionally, there were four gemstones that were considered precious in Europe: Diamond, Ruby, Emerald and Sapphire. Any other gems were historically considered semi-precious. The difference between a priceless and a precious gem is probably related to the quality (e.g. a flawless gemstone of exceptional hue).
No.
Breastplates don't have snake tongues, nor would the sword or collar be a part of the breastplate. A Talisman is an item not a collection of items.
Ok.
Then, Talisman should looks like this:
[Breastplate (Protect Wearer +7) of Snakeskin (Turn into snake +7)] with
Topaz (Courage +4, Leadership +4, Pride +4, Strength +4, Controlling wild beasts +5),
Gold (Wealth and Mercantile +4, Health +2, Induce greed +4, Nobility +4, Peace +4),
Cinnabar (Languages +4, Dragons +5),
Basalt (Perdo +3, Ignem +3),
Electrum (Deception +3, Scrying +3, MuTe +4).
Okay, a compound item may not have more elements than your magic theory score- the breastplate being snakeskin is one, so to have this talisman you have to have a magic theory of 6 or greater.
Magic Theory 5 with Specialization in Enchanting Items.
Turns out, second season of year 30, some seasons later, and all aging rolls are wrong. Is it fine to change advancement from year 30?
Assuming we are talking years post gauntlet, considering I haven't processed through year 20 and you have not notified me you were ready to do so moving beyond year 20 at this point is frankly an issue- I try to keep it to 10 years at a time to prevent massive retcons.
I meant year 30 of Wifait's life and year 9 from Gauntlet.
