1271.3f As You Like It

Margerethe isn't that worried about pulling her punches – as small as she is, she doubts she could really hurt Babette, even if she weren't rubbish at fighting.

Her Attack roll is -3 + die roll of 5 = 2, while her Defence roll is -3 + (die roll of 0, with a botch check of 5) 0 = -3.

Right now I'm getting a mental image of the two girls slap-fighting like in Napoleon Dynamite.

She looks over at Twigberry to see if he's ready to call a stop to it. Assuming he doesn't, she will continue flailing wildly.

Attack: -3 + (die roll of 1, followed by a die roll of 3) 6 = 3.

Defence: -3 + die roll of 7 = 4.

Twigberry calls out, "That'll be enough for today. We'll do the same thing every morning for the next three weeks. Get a good breakfast and be sure to clean up well before Professor Fiona's class. You all stink[1], and you don't want Fiona trying to clean off your stink in first period, or she just might Perdo your arm off."

[1] Playing off the idea that kids in the 10-14 year old range stink more than other kids, because they don't know that their bodies are changing that much.

Master TwigBerry. You had said that we might be able to learn some weapon skills. Will you be teaching those?

"No, lad. I do all my fighting with my fists, elbows, feet and head." He smiles enigmatically.

Julius seems a little put out by this. Uhm. Do you know if there is someone at school that could teach me? In my free time of course.

"Laddie, if you have any free time, I'll be speaking to your professors about it. You'll learn these things in due time. I know enough about working with the staff to defend myself. If it comes to it, I'll be teaching how to use staves. But for now, hands, feet, dodging and grappling moves is what I'm teaching. No, go get cleaned up"

"Thank you, Twigberry," Imric says when the fighting practice is brought to an end. "It's nice to get a chance to do something physical after all the studying. I look forward to regular practice."
