Story: A group of bandits ambushes them on the road. Pazzino is actually the one who spots the ambush. Several bad guys go down to arrows, while Pazzino and Aegis hold off other attackers, and the attackers soon flee. One survivor is left behind. He took an arrow to the thigh. Nasty wound really. He pleads for mercy and offers up his employer, who apparently had made up a contract. Which was probably a bad idea, especially considering the bandits couldn't read. It was written by the agent of the Augustinian brotherhood. The man belatedly realizes he's going to need assistance to make it somewhere to heal up, and the group provides. Well, Anna insists and even badgers some non-ritual healing spells out of Evandrus.
The group confronts the Augustinian Brotherhood wizard. Julien unravels the plots and gets the inheritance set right. It was actually pretty easy, the man from the Brotherhood was behind it all, and mostly people where going along with it. Pazzino talks with the Augustinian Brotherhood. Apparently he's poor and really needs a job. This elaborate plot was to get him a job as a court wizard. The group isn't happy with him, but Anna insists on forgiveness and writes him a letter of introduction to a Bishop who seems to interpret prohibitions against sorcery rather narrowly. She also impresses upon him that the Order of Hermes really doesn't like Court Wizards. She buys his vis at a very good price. Well, technically her father buys her vis, but she's going to use it for an enchanted item for her estate.

Story: The group runs down a rumor Anna had heard about shining crystal flowers, and finds it guarded by a small creature made of ice. Maybe a frozen water elemental? It actually did a really good job of blending in. They have little trouble chasing it off. After an arrow shatters its head, and Aegis whaps it with her sword it apparently decides to leave, transforming into a small flurry. After picking a few flowers the remaining ones also transform into small flurries, but Anna confirms it is in fact vis.
Which is when the bandits strike! Apparently, it had been an ambush. A surprisingly good one, especially since the attackers seemed poorly equipped. They try and hit Hadrian first, but he avoids it, and the group bravely runs away. They keep running all the way until they get out of the forest, where Evandrus is waiting. He had assumed it was crap, and didn't want to tramp through the woods. He hurls a lightning bolt at the attackers who were still chasing the group! That apparently, was enough to scare them. Well, all but newly dead guy. Everyone was very grateful, except Anna who said lightning could start a fire.

Story: The group finds the cave being guarded by some men who had been hired by the church. Specifically, a certain Bishop with an interest in magic, and that narrow interpretation of witchcraft. Pazzino and Anna brainstorm, and manage to explain that they are scholars who want to learn about past cultures as some sort of insight into human nature. The men are actually fairly interested in why they are guarding a cave. With Pazzino's convincing sounding legal arguments its enough for them to bend their orders and escort the group inside.
The people with second sight keep on noticing things just at the corner of their vision, but can't pin anything down. Evandrus has an idea though, and with some arcane words and gestures he finds a "secret passage" with some much nicer paintings! Even some vis in the form of unshaped clay. Evandrus uses his newly invented spell to take a nicely sized one and the whole group leaves. The Church minions are quite alarmed by the floating rock, but Anna insists it has nothing to do with any spirits, unclean or otherwise and its no more unholy than medicine or a crane.
