An offer in Venice (fall 1200)

Do I really try to escape? Yes. Im already tired from casting with the heavens looking over my shoulder. I cant attempt another escape without some rest, and I doubt Ill get that. Aurelia's thoughts are moving fast, and she settles on a course of action a few moments later.

She starts to push at the bottom edge of the door near the lock, to attempt to slide under, and if there is enough give for her to fit through, small as she is, then she steps back into the room and casts Wizard's Sidestep (Result of a 2, so another Fatigue, but should cast)

There is room to fit through, but it will be difficult with your leg. You know you can make it, it will be not crying out that will be the trick (stamina+related ability :stealth or other that fits) target 9 to remain quiet.

This a stress die or a simple die? Cause I got a 1 + Stamina...

stress die, I will allow you to add survival on the principle that this should be comparable to dealing with your disability while roughing it.

Okay, so as you saw then, the total is 9 with survival added. Me stealthy? Not so. Can I bite my tongue? Absolutely.

You slide under the door, your bad leg in pain but you manage to get through while keeping quiet, and just after you are able to stand up again does your image appear near you in the hallway.

Aurelia takes a deep breath, the magic exhausting her so much in this area. It seems Im going to have to run away. Im really not built for this stuff. Even as she is thinking this she begins scanning the hallways, listening for the sound of people, unsure if she can release the magic on the door and still have an escape route.

The door is behind you, you can hear people in the open room ahead, down this hallways are just more doors like the one you came out of.

Aurelia tries to listen in quietly to the conversation on the other side of the door. She doesn't think she'll last long if she keeps casting spells, and her strongest spell is out of her power in this aura.

Im going to have to learn some new spells. Flight is a definite, but more importantly, I need to be able to swim through rock and wood and such. Just, moving through everything as if it were a liquid would save so much time. Oh, but Id need to breathe... I can fix that too.

First there is no door, the hallway she is in opens directly into the room where people are talking. Secondly they seem to be speaking Magyar, a language she does not know.

(Didnt see open the first time, but I see it now. Cool... okay.)

Aurelia looks at the people in the room. She doesnt understand them, not like thats something new here, and so she starts looking for the exit, sticking to the wall as much as possible and staying still-ish to keep herself from being seen while she peeks.

There is only one exit, and its the door she came in through. It's about 15 paces across the room and her image will stay within a pace of her, and the room is fairly full.

Aurelia takes a moment to look and see if people are paying attention to the exit before turning back towards the doors that she assumes are interrogation rooms or prison cells? She doesn't necessarily know, but she wants to see if she can open them anyways.

Each door is as the one she came out of, and locked. They are not actively watching the entrance/exit, but there are people within 3 paces of it who would certainly notice anyone coming in or out. As you watch a man dressed more finely than the rest enters the building and speaks with the guardsman at the desk. he seems to command some respect.

Aurelia takes a moment to consider who this gentleman could be. Some form of lord? A high official or judge to preside over people? An inquistor of some form meant to question people? Her mind struggles to figure out who he is before she makes a decision. She takes the first of many limping steps into the room, circling towards the door in hopes of getting there and casting another Supple Iron spell, maybe use a spell to slingshot stuff at the people by the door. Gosh, I am not built for combat, and this aura is getting rather oppressive.

As your image trails a pace behind you there is a cry from the room, and two guardsmen rush forward to grab your image, which shifts away as they touch it.

Aurelia immediately shifts towards the crowd before moving closer to the door once more, her spell rekindling and forming another new illusion rather quickly.

As you step next to the crowd the new illusion forms between you and the door. There is shouting that you do not understand as the guard at the door grabs for it with the same result as before.

God, I wish I could change my appearance so badly... OH MY GOD, why cant I do that? Master... Did you teach me nothing useful? Theory is so useful here... in an aura this strong.

Aurelia holds in a heavy sigh as she tries hard to blend into the crowd while the people are focused on her illusion. She starts to look around. Maybe they wont notice me underneath the table? Her thoughts are in turmoil as she considers how in the world she is going to escape when she cant even run properly.

The crowd shifts to get out of the way of the guard who was grabbing for your image, but of course nobody sees you since there is nothing to see where you are. You get bumped, someone cries out, and the guards stop lunging for your image and start to feel around with outstretched arms. There is no table here, only a desk that a guard was sitting behind, but is now standing like the rest of them (note: the "crowd" is only about 5 people aside from the guards, people don't come to a guard station to hang out!)
