Animals in Ars Magica

We're into cold climate (Scandinavia) so anything from there would be nice !

Just curious, any news on that updated version?

Last one I managed to find was 1.5

It has been on the back burner for a while now. Am trying to find the time to move it forward. It might not have as many extra animals as i originally planned, but it will be an update.

Thanks for the update.

I have finally got around to add the latest errata to some animals, and added some 10 animals, but am wondering, is this enough for an update?
If you want more animals, which animals would you like to see statted?

if you're errata'ing animals, check the large lizard. the stats don't match qualities.

Thank you for bringing this to my attention. There are some mistakes there, and I sent a message to David Chart to hopefully include that in the next Errata.

This is the PDF version of the file. Soon it will get updated with a few more animals.

Arf, one of my player wants to make a panther or leopard and of course, they are not in this list.
You'd know where to find that?

Realms of Power: Magic, pg. 61 there is a Panther of Virtue

As per your request, I added the panther to animals I'll stat. Hoping to get the new version ready soon, because I want to finish statting up a few more animals.

You'll want to look at the errata, as there are changes I didn't see in your work. Also, note that some animals were missed in the errata when changing powers to qualities. I submitted a bunch of these for errata.

Yeah, I plan to look at the new errata, because the changes in the former errata have been fixed already in the new version.

Errata has been updated to the stats. The Errata for the Waral Lizard actually came from me.

Sorry, not sorry. I decided that I don't want to wait anymore, and am publishing the new version.

As always, if you've got a specific animal that you want, and don't see here, let me know, and maybe next update it will get added.

Not to be critical, but I find the number of different variations for the same animal to be... a bit excessive for the abstraction level of Ars Magica?

For example, for dogs I would have thought that stats for small, medium and large dogs would have been more than enough for the needs of the game. With perhaps a note that dogs trained for specific purposes (war, racing, hunting) may have slightly higher score in specific Abilities. (In fact such a modular approach can be used across animal types.)

Good job!

For dogs, apes, elephants, horses, and eagels/falcons, those are official stats. I just put them all in a useful format, without the SG having to calculate the stats based on the changes of Virtues/Qualities/Size.

Great.

And I totally understand not waiting for the next set of errata to arrive. Thanks for all your effort!
