I am new sort of back in the 1990's i had stumbled upon this game and I couldn't find a group to play in. Now I am wanting to run a game of Ars Magica on a VTT and i am getting to know the game all over again

If you are looking to run, consider also posting on the discord as plenty of people are flocking in looking for new games.

What a wonderful community I am just arrived in! A three minutes funding success shows to me the big decision from Atlas Games to deliver the Definitive Edition will be, hopefully, a game changer to Ars Magica. I love the game since nearly twenty years ago, and I am back, ready to run my first new saga, in my team, here, in the Normandy Tribunal.

"Normandy?! Bah, I spit in your general direction. You cross the line and I will burn you to ash. Freaking Normans."

[Normandy has been heavily raiding Provençal for Vis for decades, so they tend to get a very warm reception.]

Welcome to the Forums. In addition to the Ars Magica section, I would suggest looking at the Post a Day section. Most of the material there is the refined material from individuals or groups.

I’m new here because of Definitive Edition. I’ve backed it, and various people in my game group are talking about starting an ArM game once it’s out. Which is prompting me to look at my motley collection of 2nd, 3rd and 4th edition books and wonder what can still be usefully used, and what might be sensible to purchase from the 5th edition range.

Well i spent twenty years playing and running 5th ed and am now running 3rd ed on Sundays for fun! In reality you can use all your old books: the 5th ed did not replace any older Tribunal books.

Well, I'm back because of the Definitive Edition. (Formerly known as Toa, but lost access to that account's e-mail.)

Great to see you back!

I have now found Project Redcap and there is a lot of useful info there about which book functionally replaces which, how much old books are out of step with 5th ed, and so on.

It’s also really useful for the “if you get this sourcebook, you’re really going to want this other sourcebook as well” information.

Which is all great but I now have an even longer shopping list of 5th ed source books, to the point where the “all the 5th ed PDFs” add-on starts looking tempting :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

Welcome, then!, or, as we of the Order say: Salve Sodales! :mage:
Hope you like it there!

I've been distant the last several years and am here now because of the definitive edition. Like Toa I suppose.
