Sorry you missed us. Will you be back this way anytime soon? (BTW, you can see our catalogue at: https://www.librarycat.org/lib/AdocentynLibrary).
The draft is done! Our hero is now Roland of Flambeau. 106000 words, my longest novel yet. What a rush!
I have a cover artist! Once the terms and contract are finalized, I’ll share the info, but I’m very excited to work with this artist!
Just started on the first draft of Book 2. We’re moving to Transylvania.
Oppidum Laniena could be a cool place to visit - and plenty of interesting threads to pull for a visiting Flambeau
Interested in reading your book
So glad to hear that! The first one is drafted and a cover artist commissioned. We’ll be starting edits very soon!
Update that isn’t specifically about the book but is still important: I won an international book award for Fantasy Fiction, the Ozma Award Grand Prize, held annually by Chanticleer International Book Awards! I wasn’t expecting it, so I’m floored, thrilled, and honored.
That's really really cool @amstard . More hype for upcoming Ars Magica works!! Looking forward to it.
Today I’m going to hit 92000 on Book 2 of the saga. The cover for Book 1 is nearly done. Progress is being made!
Looking forward to it!
Finishing the draft of Book 2 today. People have died and mistakes have been made. Roland has a new sword, which he’s named Erinnerung.
My developmental editor is reading Book 1, and she says she’s enjoying it very much so far. That’s always a good sign!
Huge update! I’ve received my developmental letter from my editor, and the feedback is excellent. If I had to summarize, it would be “more magic, more drama.”
/s Oh no…I have to write more cool magic stuff….

Developmental edits and my initial round of “clean up” line edits are finished. Passing it to my line editor now for the next step. We’re moving toward publication!
Starting work on Book 3 today!
Hello! It's been a bit, but we're back! I'm more than 3/4 done drafting Book 3, but now I'm pivoting because the line edits for Book 1 have come in! Once these are done, I'll be looking for a few readers who want to give their feedback and answer some questions about how the book works for them. If you're interested, let me know; I'm only choosing a few, because too many cooks spoils the broth and all that ![]()
Random observation--Corpus Form knowledge actually makes one scary in a brawl. Damage for unarmed combat isn't generally super high, and you're absorbing a good chunk of that through your Form resistance. You won't usually be immune to damage, but you'll be tanking a lot more than an opponent who hasn't specialized in Corpus would.
Hello again!
The Kickstarter for The Shining Dragon is taking prerelease interest notification requests, but someone on the subreddit mentioned that having a sample would be a good idea. I agree!
So, for those interested, here is the link for the first two chapters (about five percent) of the book. Share with your friends! Anyone who might be interested. I can't wait for you to read it.
