ArsMagica [5th] The Covenant Adrift 4-6 players

Thank you!

Edit: Will Friday night be quickly enough?

I believe so, if we are talking complete characters.

One player has left the game, and appears to not to be appearing regularly on this board. If anyone does not mind taking a premade companion or magus (or the magus can wander off if you don't mind waiting a while to have your custom magus introduced to the game) the game could use a replacement player.

I'm interested. I've been watching this game from the moment I just missed out on applying to join when it was launched. I'd prefer to build my own magus, rather than take over another. I'm also prepared to wait for the appropriate time to join the group. How do you feel about a Jerbiton with VERY strong magical crafting ability?

Domazhir

That definitely sounds interesting. Would you want to take over their maga until you are able to switch it for your own? Why don't you go ahead and step in running grogs for one or both of the adventures that are starting while we get the details worked out?

I've not used this site for playing a game for a VERY long time, and even then, not for very long. I recall the necessity of being granted access to a game to be able to post in the threads. If you set me up, I can at least post my initial thoughts regarding a magus. I note that Covenants is not on the list of books. Rego Craft Magic is most clearly outlined on pp49:51 of that book, with a lesser table on p61 of HoH:Societates. Do you have access to Covenants? as the basis for my character concept is rooted in that book. (There may be other details elsewhere, but I am unaware of them.)

As to taking over the maga/grogs, I'll have to get up to speed with what is going on before I can think about it. Can you wait a few days while I get all of the reading done?

I started working on a Jerbiton Rego Craft Magus even before your reply. The idea took hold, and had to be developed. Phylophroses is a welcoming, friendly fellow. I'm considering a Minor Magical Focus in Rego Craft Magic. This would be limited to actually treating raw materials or creating products from raw materials, limited to Re(An/He/Aq/Au/Ig/Te - which is to say, "Stuff"). How does that sit with your view of such foci? Needless to say, crafting things from Water, Air and Fire/Light might be a little tricky, and unless created by a ritual spell, likely to be short lived. (A sword crafted of light you say? The merest thought had not even begun to speculate...)

I have not needed to add anyone else, but I believe you need to be sure you have your membership selected for play by post players under your user control panel.

I do have covenants, as well as a few others that I didn't think to list for character creation, I would allow rego craft as a minor focus or craft as a major (as it could include anything but intelligo for the technique)
As for the sword, it does specify it does the same work a craftsman can do, with an increased difficulty on the finesse, so crafting a sword of flame or light, while possible, would fall outside the focus...

I was kidding about the light sabre.

There is at least one, and possibly two opening in this game at this point.

Interesting. Any particular sort of characters you need? I may be able to find time in my busy schedule of unemployment and boredom to come and play

There is a wide range of possibilities left open, and of course there will be grogs, companions, and magi with which to make these slots. The greater limitation immediately is the opportunity for characters to join the group. Grogs and companions can be worked in more easily than magi, and of course it needs to make sense for them to be picked up where they are at...

Where are they at right now? I have had a glance, and they appear to be on an island, where there seems to have been a demon problem at least at one point.

Right now they are going island to island in the black sea. They could wind up in Thebes or Transylvania, but the vote currently seems to lean towards Novgorod. They could wind up outside all tribunals as well, but that seems to be the least popular choice...

So basically they could find people inhabiting those islands?
Interesting. I'll see if any character concepts suggest themselves. Are there any particular sorts of characters needed at the moment?

A lot- some specialists, you might discuss character ideas in the game and see what works with plans other players are coming up with.

Looking for players that either live in Evansville, IN, or are within a 20 mile radius or so. Message me if you are in the area and are looking to join a team.
