This only indicates the age of the account, and the postcount. Some old Ars players have recent accounts and low postcount, and no one takes that in account. In fact, I'd be really surprised if anyone looked at these before responding to someone.

I would have also called it a Certamen, hadn’t I stepped over the line. It really boiled down to one bad day. There was a lengthy certamen leading up to it, but the thing I honestly regret is the one day that I said some really wrong things. I apologized to Andrew right away, the very next day in fact. The torches came after the fact, and there was a lengthy backlash. He can back me up on this.
I honestly felt bad about it, and I still do. I could have taken the cowards way out and re-subscribed with a new address and lurked anonymously. Instead I confronted it, as I confront it here (didn’t start this thread, just speaking to it). I am not the one who is solely responsible for the bad reputation of the Berklist, but I am in part responsible, and thus I feel responsible to try to change that. Not for my own glory, but for the greater good of the Berklist which I truly and sincerely feel is a vital and important part of the Ars Magica game and community.
You have a point. See how compromisey I can be? However, I have to tell the honest truth. I like reading the flame wars. For example, I am a fan of the TF vs MdV debates. I think they are both right, I think they are both wrong, depends on the post, and the conversations have stimulated deep thought and debate in my own views. Mind you, these are two Ars authors going at it!
Let me pare it down to a simple thesis. The Berklist has a great value and is well worth the trouble, warts & blemishes & all. The Forums, which I was a long lurker on but only a recent poster, also have a value. In fact, they have a growing value, and I enjoy reading them. The virtues and flaws of each are different yet they are equally suited to the benefit of the game. I think the Forums have benefited from cross pollination by current and former Berzerkers such as yourself. I would like to see the List likewise benefit by getting people such as yourself to return and new magi who have cut their teeth in the Forums to try out the list for a while.
I just want goodness all around. It’s my New Years Resolution, to spread Harmony and Brotherly Love.
