Chapter 1: Reunited

"Did he tell you his name? Did he arrive with Felix, or seperately?" As it seems likely that the magus is the one responsible for the impersonation, Animus is quite interested in learning more about him.

Animus' scalp itches as the King's jester gives him a pitying look. It seems his blunt refusal to eat is unforgotten.

Animus' temper starts to rise as his questions remain ignored. His expression clouds up and his jaw clenches.

(OOC: Waiting a bit to see if the other magi react before I escalate Animus' reaction.)

Noticing Animus's anger rising, once again, Hildegarde tries to rephrase the question before it's too late, following her story's metaphor she adds "Knowing those details would certainly lead our noble expedition to him faster, and bring the villain to it's inevitable defeat faster. What will be remembered, the pettiness of a lesser jester or the nobleness of a King seeing truthfulness of purpose beyond the abruptness of Animus's word."

The king relents: "The name he left didn't ring true, Azuro ex Bjornaer it was, but maybe it helps to say that his magical stamp was an admirable coldness. And now begone, do no longer stay our wintry revels, mortals."

It seems we have outstayed the welcome of our hospitality, we should not tarry any longer in this winter wonderland, a good guest knows when their welcome has dried up, we have found Felix, and he will be interred within the earths embrace and his soul gone on to its just rewards, the investigation is hardly over but this stretch has reached its conclusion. Thank you again our most noble hosts. He stood and swept into a gracious bow pulling his coats around him, more ready to be out of this f'ing cold than anything else.

HIldegarde shares Edualdo's feeling a feeling about the place Indeed let's move on, we shall no impose our presence to our gracious hosts.

Travelling bck to Triamore is uneventful. You get stuck once in the melting snow, but it doesn't slow you down much.

(Could we have a short concluding scene with the senior magi of Triamore to understand what their reaction is to the various information we managed to gather? Also, knowing Under what conditions we are hosted by the covenant may help us decide what our activities would be for the next seasons.)

(ooc : if i remember well we were required to set up labs in our first 2 seasons anyway)

Hildegarde gathers her thought and asks the troupe "Now that we're out of this freezing forest, we must give Felix a proper burial, I assume we bury him in the next church we can find ? unless you prefer to carry his body to the covenant, but i'm afraid that the cold won't last very long..."

Animus shrugs, "One of us can probably cast a spell to preserve the body until we can return it to his House for proper burial." He hesitates, something unusual for him, and looks at Tabanus. "Without intending any disrespect, perhaps we could also cast other spells on the body, which might help us determine what killed him."

(BTW, is there any visible effect to the itches (ears and scalp) sensation that Animus felt during the faerie feast?)

Tabanus suggests waiting until they melt the block (at Triamore), so he can use range touch spells.

There are not any visual consequences of the itch - yet. But if you know your Shakespeare...

I don't know my Shakespeare, so...

Animus will mention to the others (including Tabanus) the feeling he got during the feast.

"I can't believe you didn't try the food. It was absolutely fabulous. You have never tasted anything like it, and see nothing happened to me. That itch is probably some curse they put on you for not enjoying the party they were throwing for us. I can't say I'm sorry for you." Menatia gives Animus in particular a "suit yourself"-look and shrugs.

"After we have got Felix to Triamore and done some investigations on him" she looks at Tabanus "I will have to go back to Harco to return this vial of his blood. Unless we think it could be of some further use."

"Laugh all you want, Tytalus," replies Animus coldly, "but we were warned not to eat faerie food. We shall see, long term, who was right or wrong."

Animus is tempted to leave her behind and make his way back to Triamore, but refrains himself because there are others involved. He will resume his scouting ahead of the party to ensure that they can pick the best way back.

HIldegarde glances at Menatia with pity This isn't the real taste of food, this is just an illusion, If you're into it just learn a simple Creo Imaginem spell to deal with it in a much safer way. You probably just exposed your body to fairy warping if not worse. I hope I'm wrong... Concerning the itching this is probably some kind of fairy curse for being rude to this fake royal couple... You might lose your hair, let's hope it doesn't last.

Fair ones, be courteous, be brave, and sure as hell thank them for the hospitality you yourself or not partaking of...anything after that is a fools game that doesnt involve fireballs or tread the ashen path. Let us see the vial to Harco and Felix's body to the earth...ive had enough of this bone deep chill for the next ten years.

Do the four wolf pelts contain any vis? Has anyone bothered to check?

(ooc: I assumed we'd wait for tabanus to leave to avoid sharing with him)

(Considering that it was his grogs that protected us during the fight while we dispatched the wolves, Animus thinks that would be most unfair.)
