Chapter 1b: Into the Caves

Which entrance is he going to open first? It matters.

Scott

Vrahos starts with the one on the right, which would be the one on the southern wall.

It appears to be another lab--this one is intact, for some reason.

Scott

Portia will check the aura (non-fatiguing spont).

Where are you checking it?

Scott

Inside the intact lab. Though she's mostly concerned with mapping out the aura, so she's checking pretty constantly as I mentioned before.

No checking for traps first? Or do you have the range to do it through the door?

Scott

Before Tasia enters Vrahos will slam a rock into a bunch of things (the floor, the doorway sides, etc.). Tasia whispers "Please be careful of the labware. If the lab is intact there could be a lot of valuable stuff in there." in Greek to Vrahos.

The board's failure to notify of new posts strikes again....

OK, just fastforwarding a bit here....The lab was indeed trapped, but with a enchantment over the entrance that caused that section of wall to collapse on any intruder...and Vrahos finds the grisly remains of the intruder in question. The aura in both the central room and the lab is 4.

Scott

Vrahos will clear the northern doorway next, in the same manner as the southern one was just opened.

I need you to make a stress roll for Vrahos to contain himself while throwing rocks around. Make it a Concentration (+Int in this case) roll.

Scott

2 (Int) + 3 (Concentration w/ telekinesis) + 5 (roll) = 10

OK, Vrahos strives to be careful, but when he's throwing rocks around, that's very hard. Thus, when the accidental dike at which he's digging springs a leak, the water doesn't begin to gush in, but it's fast enough that this chamber will be thoroughly flooded within a few hours.

Scott

"Vrahos, let's let that one be for now. Could you start working on the remaining one. Maybe we can look inside it before this area becomes flooded." Tasia starts wondering how much upper levels may get flooded, too.

What are you doing next? What about you, Portia?

Scott

Portia clears her throat. "Doesn't it seem prudent to perhaps plug the leak before moving on?" She will cast Craftsman's Eye on the dike (9+5In+10Te+Aura, I think you said 4?=28, which succeeds) to find where and how to best repair the damage.

At the moment, the stone just needs to be put back in place. The problem is that there's now water rushing out, making it difficult to seat the stone again, and as it keeps flowing, it's going to displace more stones.

Scott

Portia huffs loudly as she tries to lift the rock to put it back into place, and after a VERY brief moment of strain, she rocks back onto her heels with a loud exhalation. She then fatigues herself to spont Unseen Porter to replace the rock and plug the hole: (5+5Re+10Te+4Aura = 24 halved is 12; success). She immediately follows that with a non-fatiguing spont to encase the rocks with glass, to plug up the holes and keep everything in place-- Focus applies, so CT is 47+aura=51, sufficient for a lv10 effect.

Given a couple minutes to catch her breath, she'll then cast Glass that Breaks No More, to make sure it lasts: 6+4Aura+5Re+5Re(focus)+10Te=30, spell succeeds but she loses a fatigue level. She'll take another couple minutes to catch her breath

She manages to get the rock back in place, and as long it's under a magical effect, it's not going to move, but the wall of rubble is still leaking, albeit not nearly as quickly as before.

Scott

"I think we will have to come back on work on that dyke later. Perhaps using Muto Terram to change the stone temporarily as a better dyke is made, allowing it to revert to stone afterward, would do the trick?" As she says this Vrahos continues his work on the next doorway. He hasn't had this many stones to play with in a while.
