Theo will leave Antonio in the care of the Rus brothers, and inform the autocrat that they have arrived. He'll ask Phocas to alert Viola that they have returned with a singer, who may posses supernatural abilities.
Theo will then go back to Antonio, and start introducing him to any of the turb that happen to be around. Not exactly showing the singer around the covenant, but being as friendly as possible.
Before greeting the singer, Viola will question Theodoric about him. Once she finds out he doesn't speak Greek, she's going to get rather irritated, and stop using her talisman to translate, which means that she'll be jabbering incoherently but angrily at the poor grog.
The brothers will make sure that the skald sees the grogs, a little of the more mundane grounds and not much more. Not that they wish to find anything specific but they dont want the wrath of a magus,
Viola will certainly still want to meet with the man, and see if she can ascertain any kind of talent for languages. However, she has an idea where she could find a better candidate.
Antonio seems somewhat disturbed by the number of disfigured covenfolk, and not noticably reassured if the brothers tell him they're ex-lepers. Other than that, he takes in the tour of the grounds, noting both the ruins and the new construction, but without any particuarly focussed interest. In the dining/common room, he tests out singing a few lines of a song and seems noticably disturbed, although he doesn't explain himself.
[I assume Theo will bring him before her. Where is Viola meeting him - in the main covenant building?]
Antonio also turns out not to have much in the way of Latin, so Theodoric is needed to translate. Given Viola's gift and general intelligibility, this is arguably more of a blessing than anything else.
He has a reasonable grasp of Norman French in addition to his Greek and Venetian.
Does anyone report this to the magi? That could be a bad, bad, bad thing--an Infernal power kind of thing.
That makes sense. Does her Second Sight detect anything unusual?
That's pretty useless....Viola though is interested in how easily he learns languages. If he's gotten this far from home without learning more than two languages, I'm guessing his skill at languages isn't very high.
Being unsubtle as normal Bogdan will ask Antonio when he sees him looking disturbed, "what is wrong?". And if he's dismissed without a useful answer or none, "you've got that look when somebody walks across your grave."
Godzimir would certainly tell Theo if they have the chance to momentarily speak, but not the Magus as he's fearful of the choice to return with Antonio as it is.
