Target: The person it's on; the range is what hits others.
Form: Mentem
Penetration: Needs to penetrate
Being Present: Nope; it's sort of like some Imaginem effects.
I'll copy the text from the book later. Good night.
Sympathies are explained in RoP:Faerie, but the short version is they add to a non-magical skill, in place of a specialization bonus, that applies to the Sympathy.
The examples they give are broader than Bow&Arrow, butBoW&Arrow is combat oriented... If one were powerful with the Faeries one might have Winter +3 say and apply it to stuff ... in winter.
That seems reasonable. I noticed you have +1 Atk & +1 Dmg. That is my basic rule for quality weapons.
New Faerie Blood thing from RoP-Magic? Eh, works for me. The arrow sticks straight into his back, piercing his kidneys. You are now spotted. Prepare to have stone flung at you!
Crap. You shot the good rock thrower.
The other two ogres split into two sifferent directions. Not sure if they are fleeing or manuvering. The big guy, he is down, and crawls behind a rock (what little good it does him).
Rather than behind a boulder, say behind an outcropping of rock overhead.
The flame easilly catches them each, inflicting +15 damage.
Rolling dice at home (because it is easier, and I have temporary net at home )
I shall name the two ogres Left and Righty
Lefty Damage = (rolled a 1 and a 0, no fooling), 20 + 15 for a total of 35!
Lefty Soak = (rolled a 1, 1, 8, I am not lying), 32 + (soak +12) = 44, hair barely singed.
Real dice do strane things. I wish I would have videoed that roll.
The names Lefty and Righty are for the directions they were splitting in from the player character's perspective. So you (the drake) are up and to the right of them. Righty is closer to you, Lefty is further away (which is why he was unhurt). You notice a third ogre on the ground with an arrow in his back, plus other humans around that seem strange.
(OOC - you do not notice Kallista. And Magic Might doesn't ping, so you do not detect you have resisted a magical effect eminating from the others)
I listed the penetrations when I cast them (page 16). There were two extra dice rolls made for two potential grogs. We know who those are now. They have 20 and 18 (you can choose which grog got which penetration).
Alerted by the rock and seeing the ensuing mess, Valentino will choose to multiple-cast The Call to Slumber, one on the drake and one on the uninjured ogre. He'll use big gestures and a booming voice.
When others started to move to investigate the other campfire seen in the distance, he traveled that direction even as the others moved that way. He holds his pole axe prepared to move into battle if others present seem about to get in range of physical combat. The arrival of the drake surprises her but she carefully conceals it with all her guile. She has heard how people react if someone shows any emotions regarding magic or creatures.
Okay, so you have been following them for a while, you spotted the campfire, they have not yet noticed you I guess, You see what's happening, what do you do?
OOC - Ken, aka Ovara, was one of the original players that helped start up this game. He had to drop out for personal reasons. He is participating again, but does not have the time to play a magus (and we are full up on magi currently ). I sent him several Drake "characters" that he is running for this adventure. As I said before, I don't have the heart to hurt you. I hired a thug to do it for me
[color=red]Agreed. No need to waste good soldiers on this, especially when this might spoil our sport.
If they could strike from afar with bows and arrows, they might distract the beast enough so we may have our way with it.
In short, sympathy means that, instead of the +1 from his specialty, he can add his sympathy score to his skill with bows.
However, this is always a stress die and incur warping on any botch
?
I thought you were on a different team. You can't all be in the same location at the same time. You and Inigo went a different direction, I have a different encounter in store for you
