character design and development

the problem appears to be in the documentation, you had major virtues listed as if they were minor virtues which made it look like you were flaw-heavy. I do note that reduced abilities is an inferiority, not a flaw, while you have three actual minor flaws as inferiorities- while legal this is also more confusing than it needs to be...

other than that I get him being 17 at transformation given his abilities, not 21... if you want to add another 60 points in abilities that would match, or we can have him at 17...

Given that Anna has not taken her longevity potion and Honor is still capable, is there any intent to produce an heir (with or without help from fertility magic?)

For 1127:

Gloriana has no adventures, will advance. She will supervise the Mentem props in her lab, she will be there all year. Will also continue her ability increase program.
Aging roll: _: 1D10 = [5] = 5 +5 age - 2 Magi standards - 2 Healthy Feature - 1 Good food - 1 Good wine - 2 Bronze cord = 2 no apparent aging.
In Spring, she will again Spont cast Rituals to raise her physical stats, she will coax Mother Rabbit into converting some of her Confidence into Creo vis, 4 pawns to be exact.
+3 Dex level 45 Base, R:Personal, D:Momentary, T:Ind , as her Dex is 2. Her minor focus applies (Self-Transformation), so her total is (CrCo 88, +6 Magic Aura, +5 Stamina + 9 AL/Philosophae + 12 similar spell (level 60) + _: 1D10 = [9] = 9 roll)/2 = 64, more than enough for the first roll. This is debilitating, she has to spend 5 vis (Mercurian Magic), she can substitute Co pawns with "Imbued with the Form of Corpus", so she spends: 1 short term Fatigue for Spont 1/2, 1 Long Term Fatigue for the Ritual, 3 Long Term for the vis, +2 Creo pawn from Mother Rabbit, so 5 Fatigue, nearly Unconscious.
She will rest for 5 days and do the Quickness one:
(CrCo 88, +6 Magic Aura, +5 Stamina + 9 AL/Philosophae + 12 similar spell (level 60) +roll _: 1D10 = [4] = 4 )/2 = 62. Successful, another 2 pawns from Mother Rabbit.
She will rest another 5 days, a 10 day span in which she will only come out of her lab when she is well-rested.
Mother Rabbit has no adventures this year, so she will not spend Confidence for all the rituals Gloriana wishes to do. Strength will be left for some other time!

Sandor has no adventures, will advance.

Sybilla has no adventures, will advance (into the Mysteries of the Wise Women!).

Lady A has adventures in Winter, will advance through the Fall. Done, she will take her xp from reading.
Aging roll: _: 1D10 = [4] = 4 + 5 Age - 2 Wealthy- 2 healthy locale - 1 good food -1 good wine - 14 LR- 1 Monstrous Blood = -12, no apparent aging
Her husband's aging roll:
61: _: 1D10 = [8] = 8 + Age 7 -2 Wealthy - 2 Healthy location - 1 Food - 1 Wine = 9 apparent aging

Andros has his summer reading interrupted by adventure!! Will advance for Spring. Done with adventures, advanced for the year.
Invent spells Wizard's Reach (Vim) 40: Lab Total: MuVi 35 + 1 Int + 9 MT + 6 Aura + 10 Lab + 10 Simian Rex + 8 similar spell = 79. Night owl routine +1, Faerie shenanigans _: 1D10 = [5] = 5 , nope!
Aging roll: _: 1D10 = [5] = 5 + 7 Age - 2 magi Standards- 2 healthy locale - 1 good food -1 good wine-3 familiar bond- 6 LR = - 3 nothing happens

Danaë has adventures in Winter, will advance through Fall. Done, will advance for the year.
Aging roll _: 1D10 = [10] = 10 +4 Age + - 2Magi standards - 2 Healthy feature -1 Good Food - 1 Good wine -1 Magic blood= -3, nothing happens

Petra has been apprenticing under Pazzino for 7 years and has reached age 14, he should decide if he wants to train her further or take her on in a more "productive" capacity.

Also you only get one source of experience per season- adventures stack as a single source but you don't get both adventure experience and exposure experience.

Anna was intending to do that with fertility magic spring 1128. She'll only have 30 CrCo, but since she's the mother that will be enough for a Gifted, Male heir. That will get everything in one line of descent.

As I can see she reached a sufficient level of competence in Civil & Canon Law. I think she needs to improve her Italian (she mostly uses Latin for her work, but the Covenant is located in Italy after all) and knowledge of Covenant properties and surroundings to better represent its interests during legal disputes (I realize now that Pazzino also doesn't have a score in Area Lore: Locri :frowning:).

Couple of questions:

  1. What is the normal duration of an apprenticeship for a clerk?
  2. Petra's year is divided in two seasons at work for the covenant, one in training under Pazzino and one free season. Pazzino has control of the activities for the training season right? Do you prefer I fill this season directly in the planning chart for the next years?

Frankly, her most productive capacity would be writing books for the Library. She is going to write some tractatus in the last years of her apprenticeship!

I corrected it deleting the XPs assigned to Civil & Canon Law in past years (until 1121) during work+adventure seasons.

If you want to decide her work and training- in order to train you have to be using the same ability that season.

A typical apprenticeship is 7 years, but they have been known to go longer at the covenant- also outside an apprenticeship usually starts between ages 10 and 18 meaning they end at age 17 to 25... The covenant has taken on a culture of exceptionalism, so apprenticeships here tend to start early and run long.

Just to be sure, for the "apprenticeship season" Pazzino can direct Petra to do something that is not training under him right?

Something like practice/study/been taught an ability, write books etc...

there is no law governing apprentices, beyond Lucio making sure they are treated fairly, and you re not under Lucio's command. I doubt the magi will care about how a law clerk is trained.

Ok thanks.

Does the magical air penalty apply to training?

I forgot to add in the extra xp for educated. Fixed that.

I've separated the flaws and virtues into categories for major and minor. I've also added another 60 points of abilities. And done his two years of advancement. (Which is 5xp to leadership and learning natural appearance. Go Aegis!)

Oh and does Honor need to track labor points for managing his holdings?

Aurthor, Ibis, Arduino and Pazzino are updated.

ARDUINO
During the enchantment of his second magic item his Gift changes, developing the Major Magical Focus on Metals and Blatant Gift. He is 14 now (no more penalty to characteristics for him) and his Small Frame becomes apparent.

IBIS
Aurthor's familiar in the attempt to gain the Grant the Unseen Wings power consumes a total of 20 pawns of vis (thanks to Vis Mastery quality transforms some of its Confidence in Vis) to acquire a transformational study source:
-10 Confidence Points -> 10 vis consumed: Aura 6 + _: 1D10 = [2] = 2 = 8xp
-4 Confidence Points -> 4 vis + 6 vis provided by Aurthor consumed: Aura 6 + _: 1D10 = [7] = 7 = 13xp
5 more Confidence Points are spent for actually grant the power of flying to Mercurio, raccoonmask no more warping for Aurthor's son!

How does this transformation take place? There are rules for virtues being learned by apprentices, not for them just appearing...

Ibis is Aurthor's familiar, a magical animal. I used the rules for transformation in RoP: Magic p. 52.

Consuming a number of pawns of vis equal to its magic might, Ibis gets a quantity of XPs equal to Aura + stress dice that can be devoted to acquisition of powers.

Ibis has also the vis mastery quality and can produce vis expending confidence points.

I was referring to Arduino's change in virtues and flaws...

Ah, well during creation I took Major Magical Focus: Metals, Blatant Gift, Small Frame and Unaging as inherited virtues and flaws (Apprentices p. 10), respecting the limit of ten points allocated for virtues and flaws.

In the wiki page I already removed the qualification of the first three virtues/flaws, but originally they were inherited.

I only thought that it was the right time for some of these virtues/flaws to manifest: magical focus + blatant gift during the enchantment of a magic item that affects metals, small frame because at age 14 becomes apparent that Arduino will not grow anymore.

Remains Unaging, that will become effective from the age of 21.

okay, that works then- I was thinking you were learning the MMF.

For 1128:

Andros will be advanced through Fall. Winter, done!
Aging roll: _: 1D10 = [6] = 6 + 7 Age - 2 magi Standards- 2 healthy locale - 1 good food -1 good wine-3 familiar bond- 6 LR = - 3 nothing happens

Gloriana, same. Done, will advance. Will not do improvement rituals until next year.
Aging roll: _: 1D10 = [8] = 8 +5 age - 2 Magi standards - 2 Healthy Feature - 1 Good food - 1 Good wine - 2 Bronze cord = 5, apparent aging.

Lady A advanced for Spring. Done for the year, will advance.
Aging roll: _: 1D10 = [4] = 4 + 5 Age - 2 Wealthy- 2 healthy locale - 1 good food -1 good wine - 14 LR- 1 Monstrous Blood = -12, no apparent aging.
Her husband: _: 1D10 = [7] = 7 + Age 7 -2 Wealthy - 2 Healthy location - 1 Food - 1 Wine = 8 apparent aging

Sybilla advanced through Fall. silveroak, was she inducted into the Wise Woman Weavers? What are the particulars? Done for the year.

Sandor has a ridiculous amount of adventures in Spring. Some may not come back, we few, we happy few. Done for the year, will advance.

Danaë advanced through Summer. Fall. Winter,
Aging roll _: 1D10 = [6] = 6 +4 Age + - 2Magi standards - 2 Healthy feature -1 Good Food - 1 Good wine -1 Magic blood= 3, nothing happens (Unaging)

Whew, lots of dice rolling!

Initiation gives her mythic weaver virtue (choose a form), and the necessary magic aura for weaving flaw.
