magi have servants, who would presumably notice within a day or two that they are not moving, eating, yelling at them not to touch the lab equipment/need to clean the lab equipment etc.
Gloriana will check everyday while she is at the Covenant on her parens status (she has 1 season of adventure planned).
It occurs to me that Andros's Apprentice Neleos hasn't been assigned seasons for 1130.
Andros will preempt Summer and Winter for private Latin/AL (Neleos already has some background there), and MT. Looking at the schedule, Blossom could teach him Latin in Winter, and Mentor MT in Summer without top much disruption of other people's schedules. Still, this is the Magus's prerogative, and Andros is primarily interested in his pupil's education. Andros would visit daily to cast the Parma on all involved, to prevent Gift-related problems. Spring would be finding the Apprentice and Fall Opening the Arts.
Neleos didn't even have a column for himself yet. I gave him one next to Papa Andros, filled it out for what you've assigned already. If there's any particular things you want him to study on, let me know - mark any seasons you want him in the lab with you. Let me know what your priorities are for having him study, otherwise he'll explore his own thing on free seasons.
Mentor is already teaching scribe to a lot of people in the summer, and we have already started 1130, as in rolled adventures, so no, Mentor is not available to teach Magic theory in 1130.
very well, the monkey, Simian Rex, has Teaching 5, 1 Com, and can at least communicate with Neleos coherently (5 Latin vs 3 Latin) where Andros can observe; as such, even though it sounds like a bad idea in principle, Neleos will be taught Magic Theory by an ape! What a strange world he has awakened to!
The jokes will soon follow.
I see no magus has declared anything in the Teaching Lab for Summer, so the trio will take it over for the season.

For 1130
Andros has adventures, must resolve. Spring adventure done, will advance through Fall. Andros prepared extensively for Danton, but Neleos has no Supernatural ability to preserve, all are general or Hermetic, so no Lab Total has to be generated, and thus it's just Teaching and there is no risk of the Faerie ingredient shenanigans in Andros's lab. Neleos is Opened to the wonder of the Hermetic Arts, raccoonmask! Mind blown! Or not...
Done!
Aging roll: _: 1D10 = [8] = 8 + 7 Age - 2 magi Standards- 2 healthy locale - 1 good food -1 good wine-3 familiar bond- 6 LR = 0 nothing happens
Gloriana/MR will be advanced until Summer. Done! Winter also. Gloriana rebinds Mother Rabbit with 50 extra points (Lab Total 140 (with help) vs first Lab total of 90), spends 9 Creo/Co + 1 Long term fatigue level to do so, increases Bronze cord from 2 to 4 (35 points) and Silver from 0 to 2 (15 points).
Aging roll: _: 1D10 = [8] = 8 +5 age - 2 Magi standards - 2 Healthy Feature - 1 Good food - 1 Good wine - 4 Bronze cord = 3, apparent aging, hiss!
Danaë has adventures! Must resolve. Will be advanced through Summer. Done!

Lady A will be advanced through Summer, done for the year,

Sandor will be advanced through Summer. Done for the year.
Sybilla will be advanced through Summer. Done for the year. Will get her Inherited Virtues and Flaws finally, due to Rituals received, Initiations achieved, and general Faerie influence: Figurine Magic (Inherited), Large (Inherited), Lecherous (Major), Plagued by Supernatural Entity (Major), Lesser Charm (Figurine magic) (Inherited), Independent Craftsman (Inherited). Sweet, shy Sybilla is now very tall and strong, with raw carnal appetites (no doubt the influence of so many other Lecherous members of the covenant and the Fertility magic Breakthroughs!), a new magic ability, and probably taught by some Faerie dwarf
In summer 1130 Aurthor tries to gain an insight studying the Hyperborean "Hymn Defy the Hound of Cerberus" (Ancient Magic p. 110) kept in the library.
Insight roll: Int 5 + Magic Theory (Experiment) 10 + Inventive Genius 3 + Ancient Hyperborean 2 + _: 1D10 = [2] = 2 = 22 -> insight gained!
[strike]The following season, with a ReMe Lab Total of 65, he can invent the 45th level effect without the assistance of his familiar using a risk modifier of 0.
Simple die to add to LT: _: 1D10 = [1] = 1 + 65 -> final LT 66
Stress dices on the Extraordinary Results chart (Aurthor has the Creative Block flaw and must roll twice):
_: 1D10 = [2] = 2 -> No extraordinary effects
_: 1D10 = [4] = 4 -> No extraordinary effects
Below is my proposed effect, I basically used the power description in the book making only minor changes.
Defy the Hound of Cerberus
ReMe 45
R, Arc, D, Conc, T lnd
This spell summons a ghost to whom your character has an Arcane Connection, or who is haunting an area (should your character possess its full name), and allows it to possess a body. The body is animated by the ghost, but may be directed by your character's commands. If the ghost has a Might score, you must success- fully penetrate its Magic Resistance for the spell to work. The bodies and ghosts of people buried by a Divine rite are not affected.
(Base 15, +4 Arc, +1 Conc, +1 Hyperborean magic legacy(?) )
IMO Aurthor should gain 9 Breakthrough points in the VIS-LESS SPELLS Breakthrough. My reasoning is that "Defy the Hound of Cerberus" is a formulaic spell that achieves similar results of the hermetic ritual "Incantation of summoning the dead" at no vis cost.
The first time I use Ancient Magic's rules, so it is very likely that I made some mistakes. Do you have any comments? Corrections? From silveroak especially.[/strike]

Hi leo! My take/comments:
Is the (experiment) specialization [strike]and Inventive Genius[/strike] applicable when gaining Insight? I thought it would apply when actually creating the thing/spell/item.
*edit:forget I mentioned the part about Inventive Genius, just read it in AM, you are correct.
Remember, if you know Ancient Hyperborean you get a +1 to Insight, and if you have 5, 6, or 7 in that Language you get an additional +1 per such scores
The following season, with a ReMe Lab Total of 65, he can invent the 45th level effect without the assistance of his familiar using a risk modifier of 0.
I think you need double the Lab Total to invent a spell in one season, thus a 45th level effect would require a 90 Lab Total, right? 65 would net you 20 points towards completion.

Breakthrough points towards Vis less sounds appropriate.
The spell should be 40 in Hermetic terms, no? Don't know about that Hyperborean Magic legacy you wrote. It has a +5 for Penetration, which is not how Hermetic magic usually operates (more like an item), and so 8 Breakthrough points.

Really? Ancient Magic states that the seasons spent gaining Insight produce Lab Texts, with a lab text usually a Magus needs a LT higher, but not double, the level of the effect to invent it in a season.
seasons spent gaining insight provide lab texts for gaining insight, not for developing the effect inspired y the insight. However the storyteller is supposed to determine the effect which is inspired by the insight, not the player. I will need to come back to this when I have more time...
I'm going to say the inspiration is simply for a vis-less version of incantation of summoning the dead, which is level 40, and worth 8 breakthrough points when completed.

Ok, so Ignes.Festivus was right and Aurthor needs two seasons to invent the effect, no reading season for him this year then.
Experimentation inventing the 40th level ReMe effect with a LT of 65 and a risk modifier of 0:
Simple die to add to LT: _: 1D10 = [1] = 1 + 65 -> final LT 66
Stress dices on the Extraordinary Results chart (Aurthor has the Creative Block flaw and must roll twice each season):
1st season (same rolls of the previous post)
_: 1D10 = [2] = 2 -> No extraordinary effects
_: 1D10 = [4] = 4 -> No extraordinary effects
2st season (new rolls)
_: 1D10 = [8] = 8 -> Complete Failure! ![]()
Two seasons wasted, no luck for Aurthor, he will try again next year.

leo, Mercurio would like to talk to his father Aurthor about Gloriana's recent offer to help her in the lab. He's grown up around magi, and his father is one, but he has absolutely no idea what Gloriana is planning. As much as he used to hate his father's oppressive nature (Meh, gifted dad) he has certainly grown to respect Aurthor's knowledge and power. he would like to know what sorts of things he can expect, and if there are any worries or precautions he should have. Teach me, Dad!

Experiments! Human experiments! (In reality, Gloriana is less interested in Mercurio's skills in the lab, and more in the circumstances of his birth; she still has the idea of researching Fertility magic independent of Evandrus's breakthrough). She of course will not spell that out
. Insight from Mercurio! And of course, as he is a Faerie blooded fellow, she can cultivate his friendship without the Blatant Gift interfering. Really, as she is Alluring to Faerie beings and has Venus's Blessing, she should be worried that Lecherous(Major) Mercurio might go mad with desire. Alas, this thought does not cross her mind. ![]()

I was actually thinking of this following posted house-rule:
Regarding lab assistants- in addition to failed apprentices, any character with a supernatural virtue which resonates with the magus' "style" may also learn magic theory to assist with lab activities. A merinita may be aided by those with faerie blood, a verdituos may be aided by a mythic craftsman, a bjorner may be aided by a shapeshifter, etc.
Blossom and Fang have been updated. Fang has taken transformational xp from adventures, (this year AND last year) to get the Minor Virtue quality to grab Great Stamina! Blossom has put half the xp from scribe classes into teaching.
The rest of the characters are updated. Except Evandrus, he's coming back from a negative twilight with seven warping.
Wait, what ever happened with the int boosting ritual? Did those go off?
