One point here- normally you don't play your grogs and magi at the same time. However traditionally you can let someone else play your grogs so a concept like this would work... I would like to hear other's opinions on this.

I like the concept, hence I would like to see it played. Whenever these soldiers are escorting Constantine, the rest of us would play them (presumably assigning one to each player, as if they were red shirt but with more care) and when Constantine sends them to escort folks without him, the Ambassador plays them?
Given that I have no idea how these play out in practice, I am also willing to just let the Abassador run them even when they are with Constantine.

I do like the idea of switching around who is in charge, depending on whether or not my magi is involved. Now should it come to combat, I'm designing it so that they can fight as a cohesive unit, and that Constantine can participate in this as well.

These guys still need characteristics and abilities.
